Shipping Company from Dubai to Jeddah +971557643821: Crated Furniture and Car Shipping to Your Door

Shipping Company from Dubai to Jeddah Crated Furniture and Car Shipping to Your Door
Guide summary

Villa furniture in wooden crates, cars, pickups and cargo shipped from Dubai to every district of Jeddah, Makkah and Taif by road in about 3–5 days, with clearance and door delivery.

A shipment from Dubai to Jeddah travels by road and takes about three to five days from pickup to your door, customs clearance included. The truck leaves Dubai for the Al Ghuwaifat border crossing and Al Batha on the Saudi side, crosses Al Ahsa and Riyadh, then heads west to the Red Sea coast – roughly 2,000 km in all. Because the road is that long, we handle valuable villa furniture differently: delicate pieces go into wooden crates built to their size before loading. Al Basmah International Shipping takes your order at its branch in Dubai – Deira – Port Saeed Street and on WhatsApp +971557643821 around the clock, and moves furniture, cars, pickups, cargo and parcels to every district of Jeddah, and on to Makkah, Taif and Madinah.

What to arrange early

  • Decide which pieces need a wooden crate (marble, glass, large mirrors, antiques, paintings) and send photos and measurements on WhatsApp – crates are built before loading day.
  • If delivery is in Al Balad or a district with narrow access, tell us at the start so we can arrange a smaller truck for the last leg.
  • For a car or pickup: check it is no more than five years old from the model year, and arrange the export certificate and plate surrender through Dubai’s RTA.
  • Prepare a copy of your passport and Saudi ID or iqama, plus a detailed contents list in Arabic or English.
  • Approximate transit to Jeddah, Makkah and Taif: 3–5 days; a shared load may wait a few days until the truck is full.
  • Furniture in a shared truck starts from 90 AED per cubic metre; a sedan on an open carrier starts from 2,000 AED.

From Deira to Jeddah: the road the truck actually takes

There is no short cut between Dubai and Jeddah by land; every truck crosses the Arabian Peninsula from the Gulf coast to the Red Sea. The trip starts at your address in Dubai, or at our Deira branch if you drop the goods off yourself, then follows the Abu Dhabi road and continues west to Al Sila and the Al Ghuwaifat crossing.

  • Dubai → Al Ghuwaifat: about 4–5 hours’ driving, depending on the pickup point and traffic.
  • Al Ghuwaifat, then Al Batha: UAE exit formalities, then electronic clearance on the Fasah platform on the Saudi side.
  • Al Batha → Al Ahsa → Riyadh: the stretch shared by every shipment heading to central and western Saudi Arabia.
  • Riyadh → Jeddah: across the central plains, up into the Hijaz highlands around Taif, then down to the coast and into Jeddah.

The road to Jeddah is about twice as long as the road to Riyadh, with mountain climbs and descents and a clear change in heat and humidity between the desert and the coast. That is why we pay more attention to packing and load securing on this route than on shorter trips. If you are heading to the capital, see our Dubai to Riyadh guide; for other Saudi cities, the Dubai to Saudi Arabia guide; and to compare Jeddah shipping from every emirate, the UAE to Jeddah guide.

What do we ship from Dubai to Jeddah?

Most loads on this route are whole households moving from Dubai villas and apartments to Jeddah, usually with a car or two. Alongside them come commercial goods and small parcels. Each category is loaded and documented differently:

Villa and apartment furniture

Bedrooms, majlis sets, dining tables, wardrobes and appliances, with dismantling, packing and reassembly in Jeddah.

Valuables in wooden crates

Marble, glass, large mirrors, antiques, paintings and chandeliers – each in a crate built to its size.

Cars and pickups

Sedans, SUVs, single- and double-cab pickups, on an open or enclosed carrier.

Commercial goods

From warehouses in Deira, Al Qusais, Al Quoz and Jebel Ali to Jeddah’s warehouses and industrial areas.

Parcels and small loads

Cartons, suitcases and the belongings of a student or relocating employee, from 45 AED by land.

Equipment

Gym machines, restaurant and shop equipment and light machinery, secured on wooden pallets.

Wooden crates for villa furniture: why on the Jeddah road in particular?

On a trip of around 2,000 km, bubble wrap and cardboard are not enough for a marble tabletop or a two-metre mirror. Hours of continuous vibration, stop-and-go at the border, and the descent from the Taif highlands all put stress on a piece’s weak points: corners, glass edges and carved legs. A wooden crate takes that load instead of the piece itself, and stops anything else being stacked on top of it in the truck.

What deserves a wooden crate?

  • Tabletops in marble, granite or engineered stone.
  • Glass tables, glass cabinet doors and large mirrors.
  • Antiques, carved woodwork and pieces that cannot be replaced.
  • Artwork and large gilded frames.
  • Crystal chandeliers, dismantled with their parts numbered.
  • Large screens and expensive electronics when the original box is no longer available.

How is a crate built?

The team measures the piece at the villa, then builds a timber frame and boards to size, leaving a small gap that is filled with foam. The piece is wrapped first in a clean cover, then in bubble wrap, and fixed inside so it cannot move. The crate is marked with its upright direction and its number on the contents list. Marble and glass travel standing on their edge, never lying flat, because a flat slab tends to crack across the middle under long vibration.

And what is fine with standard packing?

Not every piece needs a crate. Sofas, beds and ordinary wooden wardrobes are well protected with moving blankets, stretch film and corner guards, with legs and handles removed and screws bagged and numbered. We agree the list with you from photos before the date, so you do not pay for a crate a piece does not need.

Pickup areas in Dubai

We collect from any address in Dubai. The Deira branch is close to old Deira and Bur Dubai, but most Jeddah moves that need crating come out of villas in the newer residential areas:

  • Villas and communities: Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, Al Barsha, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills, Meydan, Mirdif, Palm Jumeirah.
  • Towers and apartments: Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, Al Nahda, Al Qusais.
  • Deira and Bur Dubai: Al Rigga, Al Muraqqabat, Al Karama, Al Mankhool and the old souks around the Creek.
  • Warehouses and free zones: Jebel Ali Free Zone, Al Quoz, Ras Al Khor, Dubai Investments Park, Al Warsan, Dubai Silicon Oasis.

Many communities and towers in Dubai require a move-out permit from management and a booked service lift. Arrange both a few days before pickup – a truck that arrives to find no permit has to wait or postpone the loading.

Car and pickup shipping from Dubai to Jeddah

We ship cars from Dubai to Jeddah on dedicated car carriers, so the car is never driven on the road: it is lifted onto the carrier, strapped by the wheels and unloaded in Jeddah without adding a single kilometre to the odometer. Many requests on this route are for pickups and SUVs, which need extra attention because of their height and weight.

Single-cab and double-cab pickups

  • The pickup bed must be completely empty: vehicles ship with no personal belongings, so tools and luggage go in cartons with the furniture.
  • Mention external add-ons such as roof racks, winches or extra lights, since they change the height and the car’s position on the carrier.
  • Send photos and measurements of a modified or lifted pickup before booking; its height decides whether it goes on the upper deck, the lower deck or an enclosed carrier.
  • Two or more cars from the same family can travel together on a multi-car carrier.

Open or enclosed carrier for the Jeddah road?

An open carrier suits most everyday cars and starts from 2,000 AED for a sedan and 2,750 AED for an SUV. For new, luxury or delicately painted cars we recommend an enclosed carrier, starting from 4,100 AED, because the road to Jeddah is long and passes through dusty, windy stretches before reaching the coast. Pickup pricing depends on size and height – send the make and model and we will reply with the price.

The key condition: the car’s age

A used car imported into Saudi Arabia must not be more than five years old from its model year, counted back without the current year. Before shipping you need the vehicle registration, the export certificate and plate surrender through Dubai’s RTA, and the owner’s passport or ID. Special cases, such as a car registered to a company, are reviewed with the team before anything else.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Jeddah take?

By road, allow about three to five days from pickup in Dubai to delivery in Jeddah, clearance included. A dedicated truck leaves on the date you choose; a shared load may wait a few extra days until it is full.

Destination Approximate time Note
North Jeddah: Obhur, Al Shati, Al Muhammadiyah, Al Naeem 3–5 days Towers and compounds need an entry permit and service lift
Central Jeddah: Al Hamra, Al Andalus, Al Safa, Al Aziziyah 3–5 days Truck entry time agreed in advance
Al Balad and south Jeddah 3–5 days Last leg by a smaller truck in narrow lanes
Industrial areas and Jeddah Islamic Port 3–5 days For commercial goods and warehouses
Makkah and Taif 3–5 days On the same trip
Madinah and Yanbu 3–5 days Depending on load planning
By sea: Jebel Ali → Jeddah Islamic Port About 5–7 days sailing Plus port handling and clearance
By air: Dubai → King Abdulaziz International Airport 1–3 days Clearance included

All times are approximate and can change with border congestion, a missing document or peak seasons.

Delivery in Jeddah: from Corniche towers to the lanes of Al Balad

Jeddah stretches a long way along the coast, and delivery differs from one district to the next. Before the truck reaches the city, the team contacts you on WhatsApp to fix the time and the way into your district or building.

Al Balad and the older districts

The lanes of Al Balad are narrow, and many cannot take a large truck at all. In that case the truck stops at a nearby point on a main road and the goods move to a smaller truck that reaches your door, with the crew carrying by hand where needed. The same applies in parts of Al Ruwais and the older districts in the south of the city. Send the exact address, and a photo of the entrance if you can, so we sort this out while still in Dubai rather than on arrival.

Corniche towers and seafront compounds

In residential towers in Al Shati, along the Corniche and in Obhur, book the service lift and ask management about truck receiving hours. Gated seafront compounds usually want the driver’s name and truck number the day before.

Villas in north and central Jeddah

In Al Naeem, Al Muhammadiyah, Al Basateen, Al Zahraa, Al Salamah, Al Rawdah and Al Khalidiyah the streets are wider and the truck usually reaches the door. We open the crates on site, reassemble the furniture and put each piece in its room according to the numbering that started in Dubai.

Jeddah is humid: don’t leave cartons on open ground or in the yard overnight, and unpack upholstered pieces and electronics indoors as soon as possible after delivery.

Packing with Jeddah’s humidity in mind

Your goods leave Dubai, spend days crossing dry desert, then arrive in a humid coastal city. That change is what damages wood, fabric and electronics unless it is planned for from the start:

  • Sofas, mattresses and upholstered pieces get a clean fabric cover first, then tight stretch film, so they don’t absorb moisture.
  • Moisture absorbers go inside crates and inside cartons of clothes, books and electronics.
  • Electronics travel in their original boxes where possible, or in double-wall cartons padded on every side.
  • Fridges and washing machines are emptied and dried at least a day ahead, or odour and mould build up on the way.
  • Every carton carries a number and a room name, matched by a line on the contents list.

Is sea freight better than road to Jeddah?

Because Jeddah is a Red Sea port, traders often ask about sea freight from Jebel Ali to Jeddah Islamic Port. Sailing alone takes about 5–7 days, plus port handling and clearance, so in most cases the sea is slower than the road.

  • Road is better: for household furniture, cars and part loads, and for anything you want at your door within a few days.
  • Sea is worth comparing: for full containers of heavy commercial goods, or when the consignee is close to the port and its warehouses.

Send us the type of goods, the weight and the number of containers, and we will compare the cost and timing of both routes before you decide.

Air freight from Dubai to Jeddah for urgent shipments

Air freight is the choice when a shipment cannot wait: original documents, spare parts a project depends on, commercial samples, or a bag of things you need in your first week in Jeddah. It leaves from Dubai airport and lands at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, usually within one to three days including clearance.

  • Air does not suit large furniture; pricing is based on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, so a big light item costs a lot.
  • Lithium batteries, liquids and perfumes face air restrictions – mention them to the team before booking.
  • Air pricing depends on weight, dimensions and contents: send the details on WhatsApp and we will reply with the price.

Documents for shipping from Dubai to Jeddah

Clearance on the Saudi side is electronic through the Fasah platform, and a missing document is the most common reason a shipment is held at the border. Prepare what applies to you:

Used furniture and personal effects

  • A copy of the owner’s passport, with Saudi ID, iqama or residence visa.
  • A detailed contents list in Arabic or English, matching the carton and crate numbers.
  • The items must be used personal effects; new items in commercial quantities are dutiable.

Commercial goods

  • Commercial invoice (certified when required), packing list and certificate of origin.
  • Goods of UAE origin with a GCC certificate of origin are exempt from customs duty; Saudi VAT of 15% applies on imports.
  • Many consumer products need a SABER conformity certificate; food, cosmetics and medicines must meet SFDA requirements.
  • The consignee in Saudi Arabia needs a commercial registration for commercial imports.

Cars and pickups

  • Vehicle registration, plus the export certificate and plate surrender through Dubai’s RTA.
  • A copy of the owner’s passport or ID.
  • The vehicle must be empty of personal belongings and no more than five years old from its model year.

What cannot be shipped to Jeddah

Some items are banned from entering Saudi Arabia whatever the shipping method, and some need a permit in advance:

  • Narcotics, alcohol and pork products.
  • Weapons and ammunition without permits.
  • Counterfeit goods and gambling equipment.
  • Drones and some medicines need prior permits before shipping.

If you’re unsure about an item, ask before it is packed, not after.

Dubai to Jeddah shipping prices start from

Service Starts from
Furniture and household goods in a shared truck 90 AED per cubic metre
Small parcels by land 45 AED
Sedan on an open carrier 2,000 AED
SUV on an open carrier 2,750 AED
Car on an enclosed carrier 4,100 AED
Wooden crates for valuables Ask for a price with photos and measurements
Dedicated truck, air freight, containers Send the details on WhatsApp for a price

The final price depends on volume, weight, delivery city, packing and documents. For a quick price, use the quote page or send photos on WhatsApp directly.

What raises or lowers the cost?

  • Volume in cubic metres: the basis of shared-truck pricing.
  • Number of wooden crates: each is built to size and priced separately.
  • Shared or dedicated: a dedicated truck is faster and leaves on your date; shared is cheaper.
  • Floors and lifts at both ends: carrying up stairs takes more time and crew.
  • Delivery in Al Balad: transferring to a smaller truck for the last leg.
  • Dismantling and reassembly: for large wardrobes, bedrooms and chandeliers.
  • City: delivery in Makkah, Taif or Madinah beyond Jeddah.
  • Complete documents: a missing paper means waiting at the border.

The simplest way to lower the price is to part with furniture you won’t use in Jeddah before you ship; you pay to move every extra cubic metre, then have to find room for it there.

How to ship from Dubai to Jeddah, step by step

  1. Send photos of the furniture or a list of items on WhatsApp +971557643821, with the pickup address in Dubai and the delivery address in Jeddah.
  2. We agree which pieces need crates and whether a shared or dedicated truck fits, and send you the price.
  3. You prepare the documents and send copies on WhatsApp; we agree payment details and the pickup date.
  4. The packing crew arrives, dismantles the furniture, builds the crates, numbers the cartons and loads everything.
  5. The team sends WhatsApp updates at each stage: leaving Dubai, the border crossings, entering Saudi Arabia, approaching Jeddah.
  6. The delivery time is agreed; furniture is unloaded and reassembled, and you check the pieces against the contents list.

Tips before moving from Dubai to Jeddah

  • Photograph valuable pieces from every side before packing, and if their value is high, ask the team about insurance options before loading.
  • Measure the entrances and room doors of your Jeddah home, especially for large wardrobes and long dining tables.
  • Don’t put jewellery, cash or original documents in the shipment – carry them with you.
  • Keep a bag with enough for the first few days, since the shipment arrives some days after you travel.
  • Ask your Jeddah tower or compound management about unloading hours before setting the delivery date.

Warning: Don’t book car shipping before confirming the car meets the five-year age rule; a non-compliant car will not be allowed into Saudi Arabia, and trying to ship it wastes time and money for everyone.

From Jeddah to Makkah, Taif and Madinah

The same trip serves the Hijaz cities near Jeddah, so you don’t need a separate booking if your family is split between two cities:

  • Makkah: a short distance inland from Jeddah, reached on the same truck.
  • Taif: the truck passes its highlands on the way to Jeddah, so delivery there fits the same trip.
  • Madinah: north of Jeddah, served by both shared and dedicated loads.
  • Yanbu: further up the coast, for household and commercial shipments.
