If you are in Dubai and need to move your furniture, your car or your stock to any city in Saudi Arabia, the usual way is by road: we collect from your apartment, villa or warehouse in Dubai, pack and load it, and the truck heads west to the Al Ghuwaifat border and on to Al Batha on the Saudi side, then delivers to your door in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam or anywhere else in the Kingdom. Dubai to Riyadh is roughly 1,060 km by road, and delivery in Riyadh usually takes about 2 to 4 days including customs clearance. Al Basmah International Shipping has its Dubai branch in Deira on Port Saeed Street, and orders are taken on WhatsApp +971557643821 around the clock.

Before you book
- We collect anywhere in Dubai, from towers in Dubai Marina and Business Bay to warehouses in Jebel Ali Free Zone.
- Furniture in a shared truck starts from 90 AED per cubic metre; a sedan on an open carrier starts from 2,000 AED.
- Approximate timing: Eastern Province 2–3 days, Riyadh 2–4 days, Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah 3–5 days.
- Living in a tower? Book the service lift and get the move-out permit from building management a few days ahead.
- For a car: an RTA export certificate and plate surrender before loading, and the car must be no more than 5 years old.
- Our team updates you on WhatsApp at every stage: pickup, the border, entry into Saudi Arabia and delivery.
Our Deira branch: where your Dubai shipment starts
Our Dubai branch is in Deira on Port Saeed Street, and pickups across the emirate are coordinated from there. You do not have to visit to book. Most customers send everything on WhatsApp: photos of the rooms or a short video of the furniture, the pickup address in Dubai, the city and district in Saudi Arabia, and the date that suits them. From that the team estimates the volume in cubic metres and the right truck, and sends you the price on WhatsApp.
If you prefer to come in, for example to hand over car papers or drop off a few boxes you packed yourself, the branch is in Deira, and our second branch is in Sharjah Industrial Area 18 for anyone living near the Sharjah side. Shipping from another emirate? See our UAE to Saudi Arabia shipping guide.
What we ship from Dubai to Saudi Arabia
We ship everything a person relocating to the Kingdom or a trader supplying it needs: full or partial household moves, cars, commercial goods, small parcels, and equipment.
Household furniture
Bedrooms, majlis sets, kitchens, appliances, clothes and books, with dismantling, packing and loading from the apartment or villa.
Cars
Sedans, SUVs and luxury cars on an open or enclosed carrier, with the Dubai export paperwork handled before loading.
Commercial goods
Stock for shops and distributors on pallets or in cartons, from warehouses in Al Quoz, Jebel Ali and Dubai South.
Small parcels
Suitcases, personal boxes, gifts and items too small to justify a truck, sent in a shared load.
Equipment
Gym machines, light machinery, restaurant and office equipment, strapped down so nothing shifts on the road.
Families leaving Dubai often ship the furniture and the car together. We line up both dates so the car and the household goods arrive at about the same time, and you are not left in Riyadh or Jeddah without a car or without a bed.
Pickup areas across Dubai
We reach every Dubai neighbourhood and free zone. What changes from one area to another is less the price and more the loading: a tower needs a service lift and a permit, a villa needs room for the truck, and a warehouse needs a loading dock or a forklift.
- Deira, Al Qusais and Mirdif: apartments and villas close to our branch, quick to schedule.
- Bur Dubai and Jumeirah: older buildings with small lifts, and Jumeirah villas with large furniture and built-in wardrobes to take apart.
- Al Barsha and Business Bay: residential and office towers where building management sets the loading times.
- Dubai Marina and JLT: high-rise towers with limited truck parking, so we book the slot with security in advance.
- JVC: mid-rise buildings and townhouses that usually suit a 5- or 7-ton dyna.
- Jebel Ali Free Zone and Dubai South: commercial goods and equipment from warehouses, with the free-zone exit paperwork.
Goods leaving Jebel Ali Free Zone or Dubai South need an export declaration through Dubai Customs before they go out. The company that owns the goods prepares its invoice and packing list, and we agree the exit time with them so the truck is not held at the gate.
Moving out of a Dubai tower: permit and lift first, boxes second
What delays a Dubai move most is rarely the road to Saudi Arabia; it is the first hour at the building entrance. Many buildings only let furniture out with a move-out permit from building management or the community operator, and only during hours they set. So we ask you to sort these out a few days before the date:
- Request the move-out permit from building management. Some ask for the landlord’s approval, a copy of the tenancy contract and your ID.
- Book the service lift for the loading slot and ask how long the booking lasts; we pad the lift walls and floor before we start.
- Ask security where the truck can stand; in Dubai Marina and Business Bay the loading bay is usually at basement level.
- Empty breakables from the cabinets or leave them to the packing team, and do not leave clothes inside drawers that will go down in the lift.

Packing the fragile pieces
The drive from Dubai to Riyadh is long, and the truck stops at two border posts for inspection, so packing is what actually protects the furniture. Beds and wardrobes are dismantled and numbered, with the screws bagged and labelled. TVs, glass tables and mirrors are wrapped in bubble film and then heavy cardboard with corner guards, while pianos, large paintings and antiques go into wooden crates built to size. Sofas and mattresses are wrapped in blankets and stretch film to keep out dust and moisture.
Every box carries its number and the room it came from, and all the numbers go into one inventory. That list does two jobs: it lets you check that everything arrived at your new home, and it is the same contents list Saudi customs asks for with personal effects.
Car shipping from Dubai to Saudi Arabia
Cars leave Dubai on an open multi-car carrier, or on an enclosed carrier for luxury, sports and classic cars whose owners do not want them exposed to sand and sun for the whole trip. Before loading, the car has to be formally exported from Dubai:
- Pay any traffic fines on the car; the export certificate will not be issued while fines are outstanding.
- If the car is financed, get a clearance letter from the bank first.
- Apply for the export certificate from Dubai RTA and hand in the number plates.
- Have the registration card (mulkiya) and a copy of the owner’s passport or ID ready.
- Empty the car completely; it travels empty and personal items go with the household goods.
On the Saudi side, a used passenger car must be no more than 5 years old counted from the model year, not counting the current year. If your car is close to that limit, modified, or registered to a company, send a photo of the registration to the team before you start anything, because special cases are checked before shipping, not after.

Open or enclosed carrier?
An open carrier suits most family cars and costs less because it takes several cars in one run. An enclosed carrier protects paint and glass from stones, sand and sun, and is the usual choice for a sports car, a luxury car or a very new one. The decision depends more on what the car is worth to you than on the distance.
The road from Dubai to the border and on into the Kingdom
The truck leaves Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road towards Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi, then continues west on the E11 through Al Dhafra to Al Sila and the Al Ghuwaifat border. That leg is about four to five hours of driving. At Ghuwaifat the UAE exit formalities are completed, then the truck enters Al Batha, where Saudi clearance is done electronically through the Fasah platform and the load is inspected.
After Al Batha the road heads to Al Ahsa (Hofuf) and splits: north to Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran and Jubail, or west to Riyadh and Al Kharj. From Riyadh, loads continue to Qassim and Hail, to Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah, or south to Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran.
How long does a shipment from Dubai take?
Approximate door-to-door times from pickup in Dubai, including clearance at both borders:
| City in Saudi Arabia | Approx. time by road | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Al Ahsa, Jubail | 2–3 days | Closest to the border |
| Riyadh, Al Kharj | 2–4 days | The most requested destination from Dubai |
| Qassim (Buraidah, Unaizah), Hail | 3–5 days | Via Riyadh |
| Jeddah, Makkah, Taif, Madinah, Yanbu | 3–5 days | The longest leg, across central Arabia |
| Tabuk, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Najran | 4–6 days | Far north and far south |
A shared load may wait a few extra days until the truck is full, which is why it costs less. If your date is fixed, such as a handover of a new home or a start date at work, a dedicated truck leaves on the day you choose.
Delivery examples in Riyadh
Riyadh is the most requested destination from Dubai. Three typical cases show how the shipping option is chosen:
- A one-bedroom flat in Business Bay to an apartment in Al Olaya: roughly 15–20 cubic metres, fits in a shared truck, delivered 2–4 days after the truck leaves.
- A Mirdif villa to a villa in Al Narjis: majlis, bedrooms, kitchen and AC units, usually on a dedicated 10-ton lorry or a trailer, with a sedan on an open carrier alongside.
- E-commerce stock from Jebel Ali to a warehouse in Al Sulay: wrapped pallets with a commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin, received by a consignee with a Saudi commercial registration.

On arrival the crew carries the furniture into the rooms, reassembles beds and wardrobes if that was agreed at booking, and checks the boxes against the inventory with you, number by number. For more on the Saudi side, see our UAE to Saudi Arabia guide.
Sea freight from Jebel Ali for large commercial loads
Road is the best fit for most shipments from Dubai, but large commercial loads or heavy equipment can go by sea in containers from Jebel Ali Port. Sailing to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam takes about 2–3 days, and to Jeddah Islamic Port about 5–7 days, plus port handling and clearance. Sea freight suits exporters sending large volumes to Jeddah in particular, or goods that are already packed in containers. Send the type of goods, the weight and the number of containers on WhatsApp to get a price.
Air freight from Dubai to Saudi Arabia for urgent shipments
When a shipment cannot wait days on the road, air freight is the answer. Parcels fly from Dubai’s airports to King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah or King Fahd Airport in Dammam, and usually arrive within about 1–3 days including clearance.
- Good for: documents, commercial samples, urgent spare parts, small devices and light personal items.
- Not for: large furniture or a full household; flying it costs far more than the road.
- Air restrictions: lithium batteries, liquids and perfumes have special air-cargo rules, so mention them when you order.
- Volumetric weight: airlines charge on whichever is higher, the actual or the volumetric weight, so a large light box can be billed at a higher weight.

Air freight prices depend on weight, dimensions and the destination airport, so send the parcel’s size and weight on WhatsApp and we will reply with the price.
Documents for shipping from Dubai to Saudi Arabia
Saudi clearance is done electronically through the Fasah platform, and the papers depend on what you ship:
Furniture and personal effects
- A copy of the owner’s passport, with a Saudi ID, iqama or residence visa.
- A detailed contents list in Arabic or English, which is the numbered box inventory itself.
- The items must be used personal effects; new items in commercial quantities are dutiable.
Commercial goods
- A commercial invoice (certified when required), a packing list and a certificate of origin.
- A SABER conformity certificate for many consumer products, and SFDA requirements for food, cosmetics and medicines.
- A commercial registration for the consignee in Saudi Arabia.
- Goods of UAE origin with a GCC certificate of origin are exempt from customs duty; Saudi VAT of 15% applies to imports.
Cars
The registration card, the RTA export certificate with the plates surrendered, and a copy of the owner’s passport or ID, within the age limit described above.
What cannot be shipped to Saudi Arabia
- Narcotics of any kind.
- Alcohol and pork products.
- Weapons and ammunition without permits.
- Counterfeit goods and gambling equipment.
- Drones and some medicines need prior permits before shipping.
Warning: One box with a banned item can hold up the whole shipment at Al Batha. If you are unsure about anything, such as a supplement, a medicine or a wireless device, ask the team on WhatsApp before packing.
Shipping prices from Dubai to Saudi Arabia
Starting prices to help you budget, in UAE dirhams:
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Furniture and household goods, shared truck | Starts from 90 AED per cubic metre |
| Small parcels by road | Start from 45 AED |
| Sedan on an open carrier | Starts from 2,000 AED |
| SUV on an open carrier | Starts from 2,750 AED |
| Car on an enclosed carrier | Starts from 4,100 AED |
| Dedicated truck, air freight, containers | Send the details on WhatsApp for a price |
The final price depends on volume, weight, destination city, packing and documents. For an exact figure, request a price with your item list or photos.
What decides the cost of your shipment
- Volume in cubic metres: the basis for furniture; leaving behind what you do not need lowers the price directly.
- Weight: matters for heavy goods and equipment, and air freight also counts volumetric weight.
- City and district: Dammam is closer than Jeddah, and Abha or Jazan are further than Riyadh.
- Shared or dedicated: shared is cheaper; a dedicated truck is faster and leaves on a fixed date.
- Pickup conditions: a tower with a service lift far from the loading bay takes more time and labour than a villa with a wide gate.
- Packing level: wooden crates for valuable pieces add cost but save you a bigger loss.
- Documents: goods that need extra certificates or permits take longer and cost more to prepare.

- The crew arrives on the day, dismantles and packs, numbers the boxes and writes the inventory.
- The truck is loaded and leaves for Ghuwaifat, and you get a message as it departs.

- Everything is delivered to your home or warehouse door, assembled if agreed, and checked against the list with you.
Tips from real Dubai moves
Sort out the building permit before you buy boxes. We have seen fully packed moves lose a whole day because the service lift was booked for another resident.
- Keep important papers such as passports, contracts and certificates in your hand luggage, not in the truck.
- Do not ship gold, jewellery or cash with the furniture; carry them with you.
- Photograph electronics and valuable furniture before packing so you know their condition on arrival.
- Empty, clean and dry the fridge and washing machine a day before loading.
- Mark the boxes you need on the first night with a colour or sign so they come off first.
- Confirm the Saudi delivery address with a building number or a map pin, plus a contact who can receive if you are not there.
