Shipping from Dubai to Dammam by road takes about two to three days from pickup to your door, customs clearance included. It is the shortest run from Dubai to anywhere in Saudi Arabia, because the Eastern Province is the first region a truck reaches after the Al Batha border post. At Al Basmah International Shipping we prepare Dammam, Khobar and Dhahran shipments at our branch in Dubai – Deira – Port Saeed Street, and we take orders on WhatsApp at +971557643821 around the clock. We move household furniture, TVs and electronics, ship cars, including sports cars in enclosed trailers, and carry commercial cargo and parcels, delivering to Dammam neighbourhoods and to the residential compounds of Dhahran and Khobar.

Before loading day
- Keep the original boxes for TVs and game consoles if you still have them; they are the best protection a device can get on the road.
- If delivery is inside a residential compound in Dhahran or Khobar, ask the compound management for a truck gate permit a few days ahead.
- For a sports car, send photos and its ground clearance. It travels in an enclosed trailer with a low-angle ramp; enclosed shipping starts from AED 4,100.
- Approximate time to Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail and Al Ahsa: 2–3 days. A shared load may wait a few extra days until the truck is full.
- Furniture in a shared truck starts from AED 90 per cubic metre, and small parcels by road start from AED 45.
- Have a passport copy, your Saudi ID or iqama, and a detailed contents list in Arabic or English ready.
From our Deira branch to Dammam: how a shipment starts
There are two ways to begin. Our team can come to your address in Dubai to dismantle, pack and load, or you can bring your things yourself to the Deira branch on Port Saeed Street. Dropping off suits people with boxes already packed, or traders who bought stock from Deira shops and want it sent straight on. A full home or large appliances are better collected from the door.
At the branch, boxes are weighed, measured and logged on the contents list with a number for each piece, and the shipment joins the load heading to the Eastern Province. For a full home, the work starts before loading day with a message: you send photos of the rooms and appliances on WhatsApp, and we estimate the volume, pick the truck and crew size, and note anything that needs special packing.
- Branch drop-off: for parcels, ready boxes and light goods, weighed and logged on the spot.
- Door pickup: for apartment and villa furniture and large appliances, including dismantling, packing and loading.
- Warehouse pickup: for commercial goods on pallets from Dubai warehouses and free zones.
- Car collection: from your home or an agreed spot, photographed before it goes on the carrier.

What do we ship from Dubai to Dammam?
The Dubai–Dammam lane carries families and employees as much as it carries goods. Many people working for Eastern Province companies live in Dubai for years and then move, taking a home full of electronics with them. Alongside them are traders sending stock to shops in Dammam and Khobar. The main categories are:
TVs and electronics
Large televisions, game consoles, desktop computers and monitors, sound systems, each device packed on its own.
Apartment and villa furniture
Bedrooms, majlis seating, tables and wardrobes, dismantled in Dubai and reassembled in Dammam or Khobar.
Home appliances
Fridges, washing machines, dryers, ovens and split AC units, removed and prepared for transport.
Cars and sports cars
Sedans and SUVs on open carriers; sports and luxury cars in enclosed trailers.
Commercial goods
Shop stock, electronics, clothing and spare parts from Dubai warehouses to Dammam shops and stores.
Parcels and small loads
Suitcases and boxes for a student or an employee moving alone, from AED 45 by road.
If you have sports gear, bicycles or camera equipment, put them on the list. Each needs its own way of being secured in the truck, and we would rather know about them before loading day.
TVs, game consoles and electronics: how we pack them
Electronics are what people worry about most in a move, and with reason. A big screen may survive vibration but not the weight of furniture on top of it, and a console may work fine after the trip while its controller disappears among the boxes. So every device is treated as a separate item with its own packing and its own place in the truck, and its box is labelled with what is inside and which way is up.

TVs and screens
- The original box with its foam inserts comes first. Without it, we build a rigid board casing with corner guards and a bubble layer over the screen.
- Screens travel standing on their edge, never lying on their back, with nothing stacked on them.
- Stands and wall brackets are removed, and the screws go in a bag taped to the TV itself.
- We photograph the screen switched on before dismantling, a reference for both of us at delivery.
Game consoles and computers
Consoles are unplugged, discs are taken out, and the unit is wrapped and boxed with all its controllers and cables in one bag. Heavy desktop towers travel upright, and a large graphics card is best secured or removed before the trip. Back up your files before shipping; that is one step nobody can do for you.
Large home appliances
The fridge should be switched off at least a day before and dried inside. The washing machine drum is locked with transit bolts if you have them, and the hoses are drained. These small steps stop leftover water from soaking the boxes next to them, which matters in the humidity of the eastern coast.
Electronics for trade
Shipping new devices in commercial quantities is different from moving your own. It needs a commercial invoice, a packing list and a certificate of origin. Many electrical and electronic products need a SABER conformity certificate before entering Saudi Arabia, and the consignee there needs a commercial registration.
Pickup areas in Dubai
We collect from any address in Dubai. Deira itself is closest to the branch, but Dammam shipments leave from every corner of the city:
- Deira and around: Port Saeed, Al Rigga, Al Muraqqabat, Hor Al Anz, Al Qusais, Al Twar, Al Garhoud, and the electronics and wholesale shops of Deira.
- Towers and apartments: Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Jumeirah Village Circle, International City.
- Villas and communities: Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills, Mirdif, Al Warqa, Al Barsha, Jumeirah, Dubai Silicon Oasis.
- Warehouses and free zones: Jebel Ali Free Zone, Al Quoz, Ras Al Khor, Dubai South, Dubai Investments Park.
Towers in Business Bay and Dubai Marina usually ask for a service-lift booking and a move permit from building management, and some allow trucks only at set hours. Tell us these conditions when you book so we can time our arrival around them.
The road from Dubai to Dammam: the shortest land route into the Kingdom
The truck leaves Dubai on the Abu Dhabi road and keeps heading west to Al Sila and the Al Ghuwaifat border crossing, then crosses to Al Batha on the Saudi side. After Al Batha, a truck bound for Dammam does not cross the desert towards Riyadh. It turns north through Al Ahsa and Hofuf to the eastern coast, which is why Dammam is the closest major Saudi city to Dubai.
- Dubai → Al Ghuwaifat: several hours on the Abu Dhabi road and the western highway, depending on the pickup point.
- Al Ghuwaifat → Al Batha: UAE exit formalities, then electronic clearance on the Fasah platform.
- Al Batha → Al Ahsa: the gateway to the Eastern Province, where Hofuf and Al Mubarraz deliveries are dropped.
- Al Ahsa → Dammam, Khobar and Dhahran: the last leg, from where shipments continue to Jubail, Qatif and Ras Tanura.
Because the drive is fairly short, most of a shipment’s time goes on consolidation and clearance, not driving. Fast arrival comes from having complete documents before the trip more than anything else.
How long does shipping from Dubai to Dammam take?
From pickup in Dubai to delivery in Dammam takes about two to three days by road, clearance included. That is for a truck leaving on schedule; a shared load may wait a few extra days until the truck is full.
| City | Approx. road time from Dubai | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Dammam | 2–3 days | All districts, from Al Faisaliyah to Al Shati and Al Fursan |
| Khobar | 2–3 days | Al Olaya, Al Aqrabiyah, Al Rakah and the Corniche |
| Dhahran | 2–3 days | Residential compounds need a gate permit in advance |
| Jubail | 2–3 days | Residential districts and the industrial city |
| Al Ahsa (Hofuf, Al Mubarraz) | 2–3 days | First stop on the road after Al Batha |
| Qatif, Ras Tanura, Abqaiq | Same Dammam route | Timing confirmed with the team per trip |
| Hafr Al Batin | Eastern Province route | Timing confirmed with the team per trip |
| Riyadh (for comparison) | 2–4 days | Details in the Dubai to Riyadh guide |
Shared truck or dedicated truck?
This is the first decision, and it affects both price and timing. In a shared truck you pay only for the cubic metres your things take up. It is the cheapest option for a room, a small flat or a few boxes, but it may wait until the load is complete. A dedicated truck is yours alone: it leaves on the day you choose and does not stop to load anyone else’s goods. It suits whole villas and anyone with a housing handover or a start date that cannot slip.
- Small closed dyna (about 3 tons): one or two rooms, or a student’s belongings.
- 5-ton or 7-ton dyna: a two- or three-bedroom flat with its appliances.
- 10-ton lorry: a medium villa or a shop’s stock.
- 12–13.6 m closed trailer: a large villa or a full commercial load.
Sports cars in enclosed trailers
Sports cars make up a clear share of Dubai requests, and they are not handled like an ordinary car. Low ground clearance makes a steep ramp risky for the front end, and the paint and wheels do not take kindly to road dust and small stones. So we ship them in an enclosed trailer, loaded up a low-angle ramp, strapped by the wheels with belts that do not touch the body, and kept out of sun and dust all the way to Dammam.

- Before booking, send photos, the ground clearance and any modifications, such as an aftermarket exhaust, oversized wheels or a rear wing.
- The car is photographed from every side at collection, with the odometer and fuel level noted.
- The car must be completely empty of personal belongings; those go with the furniture in boxes.
- Regular sedans and SUVs can go on an open multi-car carrier for less.
Check the age rule before you book: a used car imported into Saudi Arabia must not be more than five years old counted from its model year, not counting the current year. You will need the vehicle registration, an export certificate and plate surrender through the RTA in Dubai, and the owner’s passport and ID. Special cases, such as heavily modified cars or cars registered to a company, are checked with the team before shipping.
Delivery to Dhahran and Khobar compounds and Dammam districts
A large share of Dubai shipments to the Eastern Province goes to residential compounds in Dhahran and Khobar, home to employees of oil and industrial companies. These compounds do not let a truck in without arrangement: they need a gate permit in the truck’s or driver’s name, and sometimes a fixed unloading slot. Ask the compound management or your employer for the permit a few days before arrival, and send us the compound name, unit number and location.

Outside the compounds we deliver to every district: in Dammam, Al Faisaliyah, Al Shati, Al Mazruiyah, Al Noor, Al Badiyah, Al Hamra, Al Mubarakiyah and Al Fursan; in Khobar, Al Olaya, Al Aqrabiyah, Al Rakah, Al Hizam Al Akhdar and the Corniche; and in Dhahran, Dhahran Al Janubiyah. On arrival the team carries everything to the rooms you choose, reassembles the beds and wardrobes taken apart in Dubai, and places the TVs, without wall-mounting them unless we agreed on that beforehand.
Print a simple floor plan of your new home and write the room name on every box. That one sheet saves a full hour on unloading day.
Packing for the humidity of the eastern coast
Dammam and Khobar are coastal cities, hot and humid for most of the year. Humidity does not break anything, but it dulls wood, wrinkles cardboard and leaves a smell in mattresses and rugs sealed while damp. So we add steps to the usual packing that suit this coast:
- Mattresses and sofas sealed in plastic covers, only once they are fully dry.
- Moisture-absorbing sachets inside boxes of electronics, clothes and important papers.
- Natural wood wrapped in a fabric layer first, then film, so the plastic does not stick to the finish.
- Fridges and washing machines never closed up while wet inside.
- Books, photos and documents in sealed plastic boxes instead of cardboard where possible.
Sea freight from Jebel Ali to Dammam port
Large commercial loads have a direct sea option: from Jebel Ali port to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, about two to three days of sailing plus port handling and clearance. You can book a full container for yourself, or space in a shared container for smaller loads. Sea suits heavy, regular cargo that is not urgent; for household goods and cars, the road to Dammam is usually faster and simpler. Send the type of goods, weight and number of pallets on WhatsApp and you will get the price.
Air freight from Dubai to Dammam
When a shipment cannot spend two days on the road, air is the answer: from Dubai’s airports to King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, which lies far to the north-west of the city. It usually takes one to three days including clearance.

- Good for: documents, urgent spare parts, trade samples, small devices, and the luggage of someone moving ahead of their furniture.
- Not for: large furniture and heavy appliances; flying them makes no sense against two or three days by road.
- Air restrictions: lithium batteries, liquids and perfumes are restricted on air freight, so devices with batteries are checked with the team first.
Air freight is priced on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher. Send the weight and dimensions on WhatsApp and you will get the price.
Documents for shipping from Dubai to Dammam
Saudi clearance is electronic through the Fasah platform, and missing paperwork is the main reason shipments run late on this short route. Prepare it before pickup:
Personal effects and household furniture
- A copy of the owner’s passport.
- A copy of the Saudi ID, iqama, or residence visa for a new arrival.
- A detailed contents list in Arabic or English, with every box, its number and what is inside.
- Items must be used personal effects; new devices in commercial quantities are dutiable.
Commercial goods
- A commercial invoice, certified when required, and a packing list.
- A certificate of origin. Goods of GCC origin with a GCC certificate of origin are exempt from customs duty; Saudi VAT of 15% applies on imports.
- A SABER conformity certificate for many products, and SFDA requirements for food, cosmetics and medicines.
- A commercial registration for the consignee in Saudi Arabia.
Cars
- Vehicle registration.
- An export certificate and plate surrender through the RTA in Dubai.
- A copy of the owner’s passport and ID.
- The car within the five-year rule and empty of belongings.
What cannot be shipped to Saudi Arabia
Some items are banned outright and some need a permit in advance. Any one of them in a shipment holds up the whole load at the border:
- Narcotics of any kind.
- Alcoholic drinks.
- Pork products.
- Weapons and ammunition without permits.
- Counterfeit goods.
- Gambling equipment.
- Drones and some medicines need prior permits.

| Small parcels by road | AED 45 |
| Sedan on an open carrier | AED 2,000 |
| SUV on an open carrier | AED 2,750 |
| Car in an enclosed trailer (sports and luxury cars) | AED 4,100 |

The final price depends on volume, weight, city, packing and documents. To compare Dammam prices from the other emirates, see the UAE to Dammam guide, or request a price directly.
What decides the cost of your shipment?
- Volume in cubic metres: the basis of furniture pricing in a shared truck, not the number of pieces.
- Actual and volumetric weight: for parcels and air freight the higher of the two applies, so a large light box can cost more than a small heavy one.
- Truck type: shared is cheaper; dedicated is faster and keeps to your date.
- Packing: original device boxes save you the cost of special packing.
- Car carrier type: open costs less; enclosed is for sports and luxury cars.
- Delivery point: an upper floor with no lift, a compound with set entry times, or a city beyond Dammam.
- Documents: commercial goods add clearance steps that personal effects do not need.
How to ship from Dubai to Dammam, step by step
- Send photos or a list of your items on WhatsApp at +971557643821, with the pickup address in Dubai and the delivery address in the Eastern Province.
- The team works out the volume and truck type, and you receive the price and a proposed date.
- You prepare the documents, the building permit in Dubai, and the compound permit in Dhahran or Khobar if needed.
- The crew arrives on time, dismantles the furniture, packs the electronics, numbers the boxes and loads.
- The shipment crosses Al Ghuwaifat and Al Batha, and the team sends you a WhatsApp update at each stage.
- The delivery slot is agreed with you well before arrival in Dammam.
- Unloading and reassembly, then a check of the list with you, piece by piece.
Tips before moving from Dubai to Dammam
- Start by sorting old devices; an appliance you will not use in the new home costs you a cubic metre for nothing.
- Keep phone chargers, important papers and family medicines in your hand luggage, not in the truck.
- If your Eastern Province home is not handed over yet, tell us early; holding delivery is easier than re-routing a shipment.
- Disconnect utilities in Dubai and hand over the flat key after loading day, not before.
- Do not leave anything off the contents list; an accurate list is what speeds up clearance.
Warning: Do not put phones, laptops or valuable watches among the truck load without telling the team. List them on the contents list or carry them yourself; small valuables must be known and recorded before the trip.
Eastern Province cities we reach from Dubai
Dammam, Khobar and Dhahran are almost one city, and the same route serves the rest of the Eastern Province:
- Jubail: residential districts and the industrial city, for employees’ families and factory goods.
- Qatif and Ras Tanura: north of Dammam on the coast.
- Al Ahsa: Hofuf and Al Mubarraz, the first stop after the border.
- Abqaiq and Hafr Al Batin: trips arranged with the team.
If your shipment starts in Sharjah rather than Dubai, see the Sharjah to Dammam guide.
