Al Basmah International Shipping moves houses and flats inside Sharjah and on to the other emirates, and our branch in Industrial Area 18 is close to most of the city. The move covers a photo or video survey on WhatsApp, packing for the kitchen, bedrooms and children’s rooms with the right materials for each, dismantling and reassembly, and transport in a closed truck with a tail-lift. A studio starts from AED 920 and a two-bedroom flat from AED 1,650; your final price arrives on WhatsApp once we have seen the home.

How Your Move Is Organised
- WhatsApp survey: photos or video of each room, then a clear price and what it includes.
- The kitchen is packed first because it takes longest; children’s rooms last, so their routine holds until the final day.
- Every carton carries its room name and a number, so it lands in the right room at the new home.
- We coordinate with building management in Al Majaz, Al Taawun and Al Nahda for the lift and truck parking.
- WhatsApp messages from us at each stage, from loading to handover.
What does a home move in Sharjah include?
The service covers the whole home, not only the furniture: from the first kitchen carton to the last screw in a child’s bed. These are its parts; take all of them or only the ones you need.
Survey
By photos or a video call on WhatsApp, with no need to wait for a visit; we ask about the floor, the lift and heavy items.
Packing
Stretch film, blankets, cartons in several sizes, corner guards, and wooden crates for glass and marble.
Dismantling and assembly
Beds, wardrobes, desks, and kitchens on request, with screws bagged on each piece.
Truck and crew
A closed white box truck with a tail-lift, and trained movers in uniform.
Heavy items
Safes, pianos and gym equipment moved with proper lifting gear.
Short-term storage
If the new home is handed over late, we hold your furniture and deliver when it is ready.
Kitchen packing: the room that takes longest
In most Sharjah homes the kitchen alone takes close to a third of the packing time, because it holds the most fragile items and the most of them. So we start there and split it into four groups:
- Glass and china: each piece wrapped in its own paper, plates set on edge in divided cartons, and good serving sets in smaller boxes that nothing heavy sits on.
- Pots and metal pans: nested inside each other with towels filling the gaps to cut the carton count.
- Small appliances: blender, microwave and coffee machine go back in their boxes if you kept them, or into bubble wrap with their cables.
- Pantry: tins travel; open liquids are taped shut and sealed in bags; we suggest using up chilled food before moving day.
Unplug the fridge the night before and leave its doors open to dry, and do not switch it on at the new home until it has stood in place for a few hours. Disconnect a gas cooker from its pipe before we arrive. If the kitchen units themselves are moving, we take down the upper and lower cabinets and number their doors.

Bedrooms, children’s rooms and the majlis
Bedrooms come after the kitchen. Wardrobes are emptied into hanging cartons, and light drawer units can travel taped shut with their contents. Beds are taken apart and their panels wrapped, and mattresses go into full covers. Mirrors and large glass go into wooden crates when they are bigger than a carton.
Children’s rooms are packed as late as possible, and each child keeps a small bag with what they need for the first two nights. In the majlis, long sofas get stretch film and then blankets, rugs are rolled, and glass tables are separated from their bases.
| Room | Materials we use | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen | Packing paper, divided cartons, bubble wrap | Packed first |
| Bedroom | Wardrobe cartons, mattress bags, corner guards | Wardrobes emptied before dismantling |
| Children’s rooms | Medium cartons, screw bags | First-two-nights bag stays with the family |
| Majlis and living room | Stretch film, blankets, rug rolls | Long sofas measured against the lift door |
| Bathrooms and storeroom | Small cartons, sealed bags | Cleaning products in a separate carton |
Sharjah areas we cover
Sharjah is crowded in the centre and spread out at the edges, and a tower in Al Majaz is a very different job from a villa in Al Suyoh. We plan each move around the building and the street.
| Area | Housing | How we plan the move |
|---|---|---|
| Al Majaz, Al Khan and Al Qasba | Lakeside and waterfront towers | Early lift booking and loading before the evening rush |
| Al Taawun and Al Nahda | Towers on the Dubai border | Avoiding peak hours on the roads into Dubai |
| Al Qasimia, Abu Shagara and Al Mahatta | Mid-rise and older blocks | A medium truck for narrow streets, and stair carries when needed |
| Muwaileh and University City | Modern flats and compounds | Compound entry permits and a loading spot agreed |
| Aljada | Modern residential community | Keeping to the move times set by community management |
| Al Rahmaniya, Al Suyoh and Al Tai | Family villas | A bigger crew and truck, with kitchen and built-in wardrobe dismantling on request |
| Al Ramtha, Al Khezamia, Al Nouf and Al Yarmook | Villas and older family houses | A clear carry path from the door to the truck |
| Khor Fakkan, Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn and Al Dhaid | Sharjah’s east coast and central towns | A full day for the distance and double tie-downs on the load |
In towers, most managements want the service lift booked a day or more ahead and allow moves only in set hours. We cover the lift walls and floor with blankets before starting, and anything that will not fit the lift is dismantled and carried down the stairs.

The plan, from a week before to after arrival
| When | What you do | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| A week before | Send room photos and pick a date | Send the price and what it covers; set truck size and crew |
| Three days before | Book the lift at both buildings; apply for power and water with the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority | Confirm the slot and send the truck details management asks for |
| The day before | Unplug the fridge; put official papers in a bag that stays with you | Pack the kitchen and rooms for larger homes |
| Moving day | Be there at the start and at handover | Dismantle, load, drive, unload, assemble |
| After arrival | Check items and cartons with us | Take away spare packing and adjust wardrobe doors |
In Sharjah, power is only connected once the tenancy contract is attested with the municipality, so make attestation the first thing you do after signing.
Setting up the new home
On arrival we start with the rooms you will use tonight: bedrooms first, then the kitchen, then the majlis. Beds and wardrobes are assembled and levelled, large appliances placed, and cartons left in the rooms written on them. If you want kitchen cartons unpacked into the cupboards, ask for it when you book.

If you must leave the old home before the new one is handed over, see furniture storage in Sharjah so we can hold your things in between.
Home moving prices in Sharjah
Starting prices for a move inside Sharjah with basic packing and bed and wardrobe dismantling:
| Home | Starts from |
|---|---|
| Studio | AED 920 |
| One bedroom | AED 1,100 |
| Two bedrooms | AED 1,650 |
| Three-bedroom villa | AED 3,700 |
| One item, an office, or a move to another emirate or overseas | WhatsApp us the details for a price |
What pushes the price up or down
| Factor | Effect |
|---|---|
| Volume | Rooms and large pieces decide the truck and crew size |
| Floors and lifts | A high floor without a service lift adds time and hands |
| Distance | Al Majaz to Al Suyoh is not the same as Sharjah to Khor Fakkan or Abu Dhabi |
| Packing level | Full packing of the home, or fragile items only |
| Dismantling | Kitchens and built-in wardrobes need a carpenter and more time |
| Timing | Month-end and holidays are busiest |
| Parking and permits | Communities that limit move hours or truck waiting time |
Tip: get rid of what you will not take before the survey, not after it. Every old chair or carton of books you will never read adds to the truck size and the hours.
Warning: Do not leave official papers, gold or cash in wardrobes or cartons. Keep them in a bag that stays with you all day; the crew handles furniture and sealed cartons and does not open drawers to look for things left inside.
What to have ready yourself
- Move-out permission from the old building and move-in approval at the new one.
- A bag with official papers and valuables.
- A first-two-nights bag for each person.
- Final power and water meter readings at the old home.
- Keys to the new home and the building guard’s number.
- Water and paper cups; it is a long day.
Moving from Sharjah to another emirate or abroad
A move from Sharjah to Dubai or Ajman is normally done the same day; to Abu Dhabi or Fujairah it can run into the evening. Leaving the UAE means road freight to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf and sea freight to distant countries, while light urgent items can go by air freight so they arrive ahead of you. Read furniture moving in and out of Sharjah for distances and documents, furniture movers in Sharjah for large pieces on their own, and home movers in the UAE for the full picture.
Frequently asked questions about moving home in Sharjah
Do you pack the whole kitchen?
Yes: dishes, glass, small appliances and sealed pantry items, with every carton labelled kitchen and its contents. We also take kitchen units apart on request.
How many movers come for a two-bedroom flat?
It depends on the floor, the lift and the volume, and is set after the survey. A tower with a service lift needs a smaller crew than a walk-up.
Do you move to Aljada, Muwaileh and University City?
Yes, and we coordinate entry permits, truck parking and allowed move times with the community management.
Do you serve Khor Fakkan and Kalba?
Yes. We set aside a full day because of the distance, with extra tie-downs for the mountain roads.
How do I follow the move on the day?
The crew messages you on WhatsApp at arrival, end of loading, departure, arrival at the new home, and handover.
Is insurance available?
Insurance is optional; ask the team about it when you request a price and they will explain the details.
Can I book a weekend?
Yes, but weekend and month-end slots fill fastest, so book as early as you can.
