If you want home movers in the UAE who handle the whole house instead of leaving you to coordinate a packer, a carpenter and a driver, Al Basmah International Shipping takes the job from the first WhatsApp survey to the last bed assembled in your new home, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Al Ain. You get a clear price before moving day and a WhatsApp update at every stage: packing started, loading done, arrival, assembly.

Moving Day, Step by Step
- Video survey on WhatsApp to size up the home and room count.
- Room-by-room packing with every carton labelled by room.
- Beds and wardrobes dismantled; kitchens on request.
- Loading into a closed box truck with a tail-lift.
- Unloading, assembly and every piece placed where you want it.
- Prices start from AED 920 for a studio within one emirate.
What does a whole-home move include?
A whole-home move means the same crew packs, dismantles, loads, unloads and reassembles, so responsibility never changes hands halfway through the day. That matters more than it sounds: most scratches and missing parts happen at hand-overs between workers who do not know what the other did.
- Apartments and studios: from towers with service lifts to older buildings with no lift at all.
- Villas and townhouses: many rooms, store rooms, annexes and garden furniture.
- Children’s rooms: bunk beds, large toys and small study desks.
- Kitchens: crockery and appliances, plus cabinet dismantling on request.
- Heavy items: safes and pianos with proper lifting gear.
- Short-term storage: if the new home is not ready, your belongings wait for days or weeks.
Survey without a visit
Film your rooms on WhatsApp and the team estimates volume, crew size and truck type.
Closed trucks
White box trucks with tail-lifts keep dust and sun off your furniture all the way.
Uniformed crews
Trained in dismantling, packing and lifting, and in loading a truck in the right order.
WhatsApp updates
A message at every stage, so you know where things stand without calling.
The people who usually book this are someone relocating for a job in another emirate, a growing family that needs an extra room, or a couple combining two households into one. In that last case we ask ahead about duplicate pieces: do they go to the new home, into storage, or stay where they are? Settling that before moving day sometimes saves a whole trip and stops rooms filling up with furniture that has nowhere to go.
Coverage in every emirate
We collect from any neighbourhood in the seven emirates and move within the same emirate or to another one. The table lists areas we work in often; it is not a complete list.
| Emirate | Example neighbourhoods | On the ground |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai | Al Barsha, JVC, Dubai Marina, Mirdif, Al Nahda, Al Qusais, Al Warqa | Most towers need a lift booking and move permit in advance |
| Abu Dhabi | Khalifa City, Al Reem Island, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Shamkha, Al Khalidiya, Al Mushrif | Large villas and long runs between the island and the suburbs |
| Sharjah | Al Majaz, Al Nahda, Muwaileh, Al Khan, Al Qasimia, Al Tai | Many older buildings with no service lift |
| Ajman | Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya, Al Jurf, Al Rawda, Al Hamidiya | Close-set towers and narrow streets in older districts |
| Umm Al Quwain | Al Salamah, Al Raafah, Al Humrah, Al Raas | Mostly ground-level homes with easy loading space |
| Ras Al Khaimah | Al Nakheel, Al Dhait, Khuzam, Al Mamourah, Al Hamra Village, Al Marjan Island | Distances between mountain and coastal districts |
| Fujairah | Al Faseel, Merashid, Sakamkam, Dibba Al Fujairah, Murbah | Mountain road to the west coast calls for tight loading |
| Al Ain | Al Jimi, Al Muwaiji, Zakher, Al Hili, Al Towayya, Al Maqam | Big villas with majlis sets and heavy furniture |
Each emirate has its own guide, such as home movers in Dubai and home movers in Abu Dhabi.
How the move runs, from first message to unpacking
The method is the same in every emirate; only the crew size and truck change with the size of the home.
- WhatsApp message: emirate and area, home type, floor, whether there is a lift, and your preferred date.
- Video survey: a quick walk through rooms, store room and balcony, pointing out anything delicate.
- Price and date confirmed: the price arrives in writing in the chat, with exactly what it covers.
- Packing day: for large homes packing may start the day before so moving day stays short.
- Dismantling and loading: heavy pieces deep in the truck, cartons next, fragile items on top.
- Unloading and assembly: each carton goes to the room written on it, and beds and wardrobes are rebuilt before the crew leaves.
Packing every room in the house
Good packing is measured by what you do not find on arrival: no broken glass, no scratched wardrobe door. So each room gets the materials it needs, and every carton is labelled with its room and a short note of what is inside.
The kitchen
The kitchen takes the most time and material. Plates are wrapped one by one and stood on their edge rather than stacked flat, and glasses go into cartons with cardboard dividers. The fridge should be emptied and switched off a day early so it can defrost, and a washing machine with a transit bolt should have it fitted.

Wardrobes and bedrooms
Hanging clothes travel in wardrobe cartons with a rail, so they arrive as pressed as they left. Large wardrobes are taken apart, and their screws go into a small bag taped to one of the panels. Mattresses are sealed in full plastic covers against dust.
Children’s rooms
We set aside one carton per child marked “open first”: a favourite toy, a blanket and what they need for the first night. Bunk beds are fully dismantled, and large plastic toys are wrapped in blankets so they do not scratch anything else.
Living room and delicate pieces
TVs travel in dedicated cartons or thick blankets and stay upright. Glass and marble need wooden crates made to size, and the corners of sofas and tables get corner guards before the stretch film goes on.
Photograph the cables behind your TV and router before unplugging them. One phone photo saves half an hour of guessing in the new place.
Building rules, lifts and permits
Most towers and gated communities will not allow a move without prior approval from building management, and some limit the hours or require the service lift to be booked. We help you arrange it, but the request itself is usually made in the resident’s or owner’s name.
- Request the move-out permit for the old building and the move-in permit for the new one a few days ahead.
- Ask about service lift booking and hours, and any refundable deposit management requires.
- Confirm where the truck can stand: a loading bay, a rear ramp or the roadside.
- For walk-up buildings we count the floors and add crew so the day does not drag.

Setting up the new home
The move does not end when the cartons come off the truck. The crew assembles beds and wardrobes, places sofas and tables where you want them and puts each carton in its labelled room. Kitchen dismantling and refitting is available on request and agreed at the survey because it takes longer.
- Before the truck arrives, sketch a simple room plan and tape it to the door.
- Make sure electricity and water are connected at the new home before moving day.
- Open kitchen and bathroom cartons first, then the bedrooms.

If the new home is not ready the same day, your belongings can go into short-term storage; see furniture storage in the UAE.
Moving-day checklist
- A bag per person with two days of clothes, chargers and medicines.
- Important papers, gold and cash travel with you in the car, not in the truck.
- Keys and lift cards for both homes.
- Fridge switched off and dried, washing machine drained.
- Meter readings for electricity and water at both homes.
- A last walk through high cupboards, balcony and store room before handing over the key.
Appliances, plants and special items
Appliances need some preparation from you before the crew arrives. Fridges and freezers are switched off a full day early with their doors left slightly open to avoid odours. Washing machines are drained through the bottom filter, and the microwave turntable comes out and is wrapped on its own. Coffee machines and blenders go back into their original boxes if you kept them.
House plants travel at the back of the truck near the door. Water them two days before, not on the day, so no water drips onto cartons. Perfumes, cleaning products and small gas canisters never go in with clothes or fabrics; they get their own carton marked “liquids” and stay upright.
Moving between two emirates in one day
A move from Sharjah to Dubai or Ajman to Abu Dhabi follows the same steps, but route planning becomes part of the price and the timing. We start loading early so the truck reaches the new building before its permitted move hours end, and we load so that what gets assembled first comes off first: beds, then wardrobes, then cartons. On longer runs we message you when the truck leaves the first emirate and again roughly half an hour before arrival, so someone is home to receive the crew.
How to tell a serious moving company
- It asks about the floor, the lift and heavy items before quoting, not only the number of rooms.
- It spells out what the price covers: packing, dismantling and assembly, crew size and truck type.
- It uses closed trucks, not open ones, especially in the summer and dusty months.
- It gives you one contact channel for the whole day rather than several numbers nobody answers.
- It does not ask you to take anything apart yourself beyond what was agreed.
Home moving prices in the UAE
These are starting prices for a move within one emirate, including the truck, crew, basic packing and bed and wardrobe dismantling and assembly. The final price is set after the survey.
| Home size | Starts from |
|---|---|
| Studio | AED 920 |
| One-bedroom apartment | AED 1,100 |
| Two-bedroom apartment | AED 1,650 |
| Three-bedroom villa | AED 3,700 |
| Single item, office, between emirates or abroad | Send the details on WhatsApp and get your price |
What decides the price?
| Factor | How it affects the price |
|---|---|
| Volume | Rooms and items set the truck size and number of trips |
| Floors and lifts | A fifth floor walk-up needs more crew and time than a tower with a service lift |
| Distance | Within one emirate costs less than a move between distant emirates |
| Packing level | Basic packing, or full packing of all crockery, clothes and delicate items |
| Dismantling | Kitchens and large wardrobes add working hours |
| Timing | Month-end and weekends are the busiest slots |
| Parking and permits | Truck distance from the entrance and the building’s allowed hours |
Warning: Do not hand back the old key until you have checked the high cupboards, store room and balcony yourself. Things left there are what people most often go back for after a move.
Tips from the field
- Book at least a week ahead if your date falls at month-end.
- Get rid of what you do not want before the survey; every item moved has a cost.
- Keep a clear path from the front door to the lift on the day.
- Do not fill a book carton to the top; a small heavy box beats a big one that splits.
- If you own valuable furniture, ask the team about optional insurance before the date.
Sending urgent items by air freight
Sometimes one family member travels ahead and needs suitcases, papers or a light device at the destination quickly. Those light items can go abroad by air freight while the bulk of the furniture follows by road or sea. For moves out of the country see furniture moving in and out of the UAE, and for dismantling and assembling large pieces see furniture movers in the UAE.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a two-bedroom move within one emirate take?
Usually one working day including packing, loading and assembly, provided the lift is booked and access is easy. Bigger homes may need an extra packing day.
Can you move me the same day if it is urgent?
We try, depending on crew and truck availability. The fastest way is to send your details on WhatsApp right away to see what is open.
Do you work at weekends?
Yes, and orders are received on WhatsApp around the clock. Weekend slots fill up faster, so book early.
Can I order packing only and move myself?
You can order packing alone or loading alone; mention it in your message so the price covers only what you need.
Do you dismantle and refit kitchens?
Yes, on request. It is agreed at the survey because it needs a specialist and more time.
What if the new home is handed over late?
We hold your belongings in short-term storage and deliver once the home is ready.
How do I know what is happening on moving day?
The crew sends WhatsApp updates when packing starts, loading finishes, the truck arrives and assembly begins.
Ready to move house?
Film your rooms and send the video on WhatsApp to get a price and an available date.
