Shipping Company from Sharjah to Qatar
Guide summary

Shipping showroom stock, new furniture or a pickup from Sharjah to Qatar? We collect from Industrial Area 18 and deliver to Doha warehouses in about 2–4 days, with the invoice, certificate of origin and consignee details sorted.

Looking for a shipping company from Sharjah to Qatar to move showroom stock or new furniture to a shop in Doha, or to ship a pickup to its owner there? Al Basmah International Shipping collects from your site in Sharjah or from our branch in Industrial Area 18, prepares the commercial paperwork, and sends the truck by road through Saudi Arabia in customs transit to the Abu Samra border and on to the consignee’s warehouse. Most road shipments reach Doha in roughly 2–4 days door to door, clearance included, and furniture in a shared truck starts from 90 AED per cubic metre. For a full container or heavy commercial cargo, sea freight to Hamad Port is worth comparing; small urgent items go by air.

For showroom owners

  • Showroom stock and new furniture in commercial quantities ship as commercial goods: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and a Qatari consignee with a commercial registration.
  • UAE-made goods with a GCC certificate of origin are exempt from Qatari customs duty; other goods usually pay 5%.
  • Road suits most showroom orders; sea from Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port to Hamad Port suits full containers and heavy loads.
  • We deliver to warehouses in Doha Industrial Area and Birkat Al Awamer, and to showrooms and shops across the cities.
  • Pickups travel on an enclosed carrier, provided they are no more than five years from the manufacture date and left-hand drive.
  • The team sends you a WhatsApp update at loading, at the borders and before delivery.

What do we ship from Sharjah to Qatar?

Sharjah is a wholesale and retail market for furniture and furnishings, and many showrooms in Doha and Al Rayyan buy straight from its factories and warehouses. So most of our Sharjah-to-Qatar loads are commercial, alongside household moves and vehicles. This is what we handle day to day:

  • New furniture for showrooms: bedroom sets, sofas, Arabic majlis seating, dining tables and wardrobes, factory-wrapped or re-packed by us.
  • Mixed showroom stock: mattresses, carpets, curtains, décor accessories, lighting and homeware.
  • Office furniture and shop fit-out: desks, chairs, display shelving and counters.
  • Materials and spare parts: car parts and light equipment from the industrial-area warehouses.
  • Used household goods: for people relocating to Qatar, from a small flat to a full villa.
  • Vehicles: pickups, sedans and 4x4s on enclosed or open carriers.

If your goods are in Dubai or Ajman, it works the same way — we collect from any emirate, and each has its own guide, such as the Dubai to Qatar shipping guide. For the overall picture across the emirates, see the UAE to Qatar shipping guide.

Showroom stock and new furniture: how is it different from used household goods?

The key difference is that Qatar Customs treats new furniture in commercial quantities as imported goods, not personal effects. That means the shipment needs a consignee in Qatar holding a commercial registration and importer details, and the commercial invoice must show the real value of each item. Used household goods belonging to someone moving to Qatar are cleared with their passport, Qatari ID and a detailed contents list instead.

A Doha showroom owner ordering twenty bedroom sets from a factory in Sharjah’s industrial area should agree three things with the factory before loading: who issues the commercial invoice and at what value, who obtains the certificate of origin, and whether the goods are actually made in the UAE or imported and resold. That last point decides the duty. UAE-made goods with a GCC certificate of origin are exempt from customs duty, while furniture imported from outside the Gulf is usually subject to the general 5% customs duty. We go through the classification of each item with you before booking so there are no surprises at Abu Samra.

Loading is organised differently too. New furniture usually goes on pallets or in numbered factory cartons, and we match every number on the packing list against what actually goes into the truck. At the receiving showroom that makes counting easy, and at the border inspection the officer has a clear list that matches the load.

Pickup areas in Sharjah

We collect from every part of Sharjah. Most requests come from the factory, warehouse and showroom districts:

  • Industrial Areas 1 to 18 — home to our branch and most furniture factories and warehouses.
  • Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) and Hamriyah Free Zone, for goods stored in free zones.
  • Al Qasimia, Al Majaz, Al Taawun, Al Khan and Al Nahda, for city flats and shops.
  • Muwaileh, University City, Al Rahmaniya and Al Sajaa, for villas and warehouses on the city edges.
  • Sharjah’s east coast — Khor Fakkan, Kalba and Dibba Al Hisn — by prior appointment.

If the goods sit in a free zone, tell us at the start: releasing them needs a free-zone procedure before the export paperwork can begin.

The road route from Sharjah to Doha

The UAE and Qatar share no land border, so the truck crosses part of Saudi Arabia in customs transit. The load is sealed and declared in transit — it is not cleared into Saudi Arabia and is only opened if inspection requires it — which is why the paperwork must be complete before the truck leaves Sharjah.

  1. Loading in Sharjah and sealing the load after checking it against the packing list.
  2. West through Abu Dhabi and the Al Dhafra region to the Al Ghuwaifat border on the UAE side.
  3. Entry at the Saudi Al Batha border under a transit declaration.
  4. Along the Saudi coast road to the Salwa border.
  5. Crossing at Qatar’s Abu Samra border, where customs clearance runs electronically through the Al Nadeeb system.
  6. On to Doha or any Qatari city for delivery to the address.

The truck follows the same road our shipments to the Eastern Province use; if you ship to Saudi Arabia too, the Sharjah to Saudi Arabia shipping guide has more detail. We don’t promise fixed times at the borders, because waiting depends on traffic, but the team updates you on WhatsApp at each crossing.

How long does shipping from Sharjah to Qatar take?

These are approximate door-to-door times including clearance at Abu Samra, counted from the day the truck leaves. A shared truck may wait a few days to fill up; a dedicated truck leaves on the date you choose.

Destination in Qatar Approx. road time Note
Doha 2–4 days Includes Industrial Area and Birkat Al Awamer
Lusail 2–4 days Tower building schedules apply
Al Rayyan 2–4 days Showrooms, warehouses and homes
Al Wakrah 2–4 days Close to the southern road
Al Khor 3–4 days North of Doha
Mesaieed 3–4 days Industrial area to the south

Road or sea to Hamad Port?

For most showroom orders — from a few pallets to a full trailer — road is faster and simpler: the truck loads at the supplier’s warehouse in Sharjah and unloads at the buyer’s warehouse in Doha with no port handling in between. If the shipment is a full container or more, or heavy cargo such as marble or factory equipment, sea freight from Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port to Hamad Port south of Doha is a real alternative. The sailing itself is short, around a couple of days, plus port handling and clearance.

Factor Road via Saudi Arabia Sea to Hamad Port
Best size A few pallets up to a 13.6 m trailer Full container or more; heavy cargo
Handling One loading, one unloading Truck to port, then port to warehouse
Approx. time 2–4 days to Doha About two days sailing plus port and clearance time
Clearance Abu Samra border Hamad Port
Price From 90 AED per m³ in a shared truck Send the details on WhatsApp and get the price

We put real numbers on both options before you book and recommend what fits the size of the order, not what is easier for us.

Air freight from Sharjah to Qatar

Air freight from Sharjah or Dubai airport to Hamad International Airport in Doha takes roughly 1–2 days including clearance. It suits fabric samples and accessories a showroom needs before an opening, urgent spare parts, documents and light parcels. It does not suit furniture: the volumetric weight of a single sofa makes it far more expensive by air than its share of a road load.

  • Price is based on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher; volumetric weight = L × W × H in cm ÷ 6000.
  • Lithium batteries, liquids and perfumes are restricted on air freight — tell us before packing.
  • Air prices depend on dimensions and weight: send the details on WhatsApp and get the price.

Shipping pickups and cars from Sharjah to Qatar

Pickups are among the vehicles we ship most from Sharjah to Qatar, whether for a showroom owner who uses one for deliveries or for someone who has moved there for work. They travel on an enclosed carrier that keeps out dust and sun all the way, and the cargo bed must be completely empty — no goods or personal items may be loaded in the vehicle or its bed.

Car shipping from Sharjah to Qatar

Before booking we check the vehicle’s eligibility. Qatar limits imported used light vehicles to five years from the manufacture date (heavy vehicles ten years), and the vehicle must meet Qatar’s technical, safety and environmental standards and be left-hand drive to be registered. “GCC specs” alone does not guarantee acceptance, so we review your pickup’s model and category before you pay anything.

  • Open carrier: sedans from 2,000 AED, SUVs from 2,750 AED.
  • Enclosed carrier: from 4,100 AED — our recommendation for new pickups and luxury cars.
  • Pickup prices depend on model and size: send the model on WhatsApp and get the price.

Packing new furniture and showroom stock

New furniture arrives at the showroom to be sold, and a scratch means a discount or an item that won’t sell. So we treat packing as part of the value of the goods:

  • Cardboard or plastic corner guards on every wood or marble piece, a bubble layer, then tight stretch wrap.
  • Sofas and majlis seating in heavy plastic covers against dust and moisture — Qatar’s coast is hot and humid in summer.
  • Mattresses in their original bags with an extra wrap, loaded upright.
  • Pallets strapped and fully wrapped so cartons don’t shift on top of each other.
  • Every carton or piece numbered to match the packing list.
  • Glass and mirrors in wooden crates where needed.

Tip for showroom owners: ask the factory for a photo of every pallet after wrapping, with its number visible, and keep them. When the load arrives in Doha you compare the photos with what came and know at once if anything is missing or damaged.

Documents for shipping from Sharjah to Qatar

Commercial goods and showroom stock

  • Commercial invoice with the value of each item; adding the HS code helps customs classification.
  • Packing list with the number of packages, their weights and contents.
  • Certificate of origin — a GCC one is the condition for duty exemption on UAE-made goods.
  • The Qatari consignee’s commercial registration and importer details.
  • Food, medicines and cosmetics have extra health requirements; food needs labels in Arabic, or Arabic and English.

Household goods and personal effects

  • Passport copy.
  • Qatari ID (residence permit) or national ID.
  • A detailed contents list in Arabic or English.
  • Note: new items in commercial quantities inside a household load are dutiable.

Vehicles

  • Purchase invoice or ownership papers.
  • UAE export certificate and plate cancellation.
  • Owner’s ID.
  • The vehicle empty of personal belongings.

Prohibited and restricted items

We do not accept in any shipment to Qatar narcotics, weapons and ammunition without permits, counterfeit goods, or gambling equipment. Alcohol and pork products are restricted, and drones and some medicines need a prior permit.

Warning: Counterfeit showroom stock — even one accessory carrying a fake brand — can hold up the whole load at Abu Samra. Check what is on the pallets before loading, not after.

Shipping prices from Sharjah to Qatar

These are starting points; the final price depends on volume, weight, city, packing and documents.

Service Price
Furniture and goods in a shared truck Starts from 90 AED per m³
Small parcels by road Start from 45 AED

SUV on an open carrier Starts from 2,750 AED

What decides the cost?

  • Volume and weight: furniture is usually priced by volume, heavy goods by weight.
  • Truck type: shared or dedicated; 3-, 5- or 7-ton dyna, 10-ton lorry, or a 12–13.6 m trailer.
  • City in Qatar: Doha, Al Rayyan and Lusail differ from Al Khor, Mesaieed and Dukhan.
  • Packing: factory-wrapped goods versus full packing or wooden crates.
  • Paperwork: a commercial load with its certificate of origin and consignee details ready moves faster and costs less than one missing papers.
  • Customs duty: paid on non-GCC-origin goods and separate from the freight charge.
  • Insurance: optional — ask the team for details.

Delivery in Qatar: from Abu Samra to the Industrial Area warehouses

After clearance at Abu Samra the truck heads straight to the address. Most showroom loads are delivered to warehouses in Doha Industrial Area or Birkat Al Awamer, and some go directly to showrooms in Al Rayyan, Al Sadd, Al Gharafa and Muaither. We also deliver household goods in West Bay, The Pearl, Lusail, Al Waab, Al Duhail, Madinat Khalifa, Al Thumama, Al Hilal, the Old Airport area, Al Wakrah and Al Khor.

Delivery to Doha Industrial Area — from Sharjah

For a quick warehouse delivery, have these ready before the truck arrives:

  • The warehouse map location and the receiver’s phone number.
  • The warehouse receiving hours — some only accept deliveries at set times.
  • Unloading equipment: a forklift for pallets or labour for single pieces.
  • A copy of the packing list for counting on arrival.

If the goods come by sea, they are cleared at Hamad Port and trucked to the same warehouse — a short run, since the port lies south of Doha.

Tips and warnings before you ship

  • Don’t load goods that aren’t on the invoice; one undeclared item delays the whole load.
  • Make sure the consignee name on the papers matches the Qatari commercial registration exactly.
  • If the order comes from several Sharjah suppliers, gather it in one place or let us collect from each supplier on the same day.
  • Book a dedicated truck if the showroom has an opening date that can’t wait for a shared truck to fill.
  • If you also ship to Oman, that is a direct road route with no third country — see the Sharjah to Oman shipping guide.

Frequently asked questions about shipping from Sharjah to Qatar

Do I need a Qatari commercial registration to ship showroom stock?

Yes. New furniture in commercial quantities is cleared as imported goods and needs a consignee in Qatar with a commercial registration and importer details. If you don’t have one, the buying showroom acts as consignee.

Is furniture made in Sharjah exempt from Qatari customs duty?

UAE-made goods with a GCC certificate of origin are exempt. Furniture imported from outside the Gulf and resold from Sharjah is usually subject to 5% duty.

How many days from Sharjah to Doha?

About 2–4 days by road including clearance, plus possibly a few days in a shared truck while it fills.

When is sea freight to Hamad Port better than road?

When the shipment is a full container or more, or heavy cargo. For smaller orders road stays faster with less handling.

Can you ship a pickup with goods in its bed?

No. The vehicle ships completely empty of goods and belongings. The goods themselves can travel in the truck with the rest of the order.

Do you deliver inside Industrial Area warehouses?

Yes — to warehouses in the Industrial Area and Birkat Al Awamer and to showrooms and shops, with the receiving time and unloading method agreed in advance.

How do I know where my shipment is?

The team sends you WhatsApp updates at loading, at Al Ghuwaifat, at Abu Samra and before arrival at the address.

Can the goods be insured?

Insurance is optional; ask the team about details and cost when booking.
