If you’re looking for a shipping company from Ajman to Khobar to move your whole flat, this is what Al Basmah International Shipping does: we dismantle the bedrooms and wardrobes in your Ajman apartment, seal the mattresses in bags, number the boxes by room, and the truck travels by road through Al Ghuwaifat – Al Batha to reach Khobar in roughly 2 to 4 days including clearance. Your sedan can go with it on a two-deck enclosed carrier. We deliver to Al Aqrabiyah and central Khobar and reassemble the rooms. Send a furniture list or a short video of the flat on WhatsApp +971557643821 and you’ll get the price.

Getting the flat ready
- Book the building lift in Ajman and a move-out time with the watchman or management before loading day.
- Bedrooms are fully dismantled: bed, wardrobe and dressing table, with mirrors wrapped separately.
- Mattresses in sealed plastic bags; boxes numbered and labelled with the room name.
- A contents list in Arabic or English, plus a copy of the passport and Saudi ID or iqama.
- Sedan: two-deck enclosed carrier from 4,100 AED, or open carrier from 2,000 AED.
- In Khobar: we arrange lift time and truck parking with the building in Al Aqrabiyah or central Khobar.
What do we move from Ajman flats to Khobar?
Ajman is above all a city of apartments, and most people who ask us to move them to Khobar are families or employees who’ve taken a job in the Eastern Province, in oil, industry, contracting or teaching. The usual shipment is a one-, two- or three-bedroom flat: bedrooms, living room, kitchen, appliances, and boxes of clothes and books. This kind of move doesn’t need a huge truck so much as careful dismantling, packing and numbering, because the receiver in Khobar will rebuild the home from these pieces.
- Bedrooms: double and single beds, sliding or hinged wardrobes, dressing tables with mirrors, bedside tables.
- Children’s rooms: bunk beds, study desks, toy cupboards.
- Living room: sofas and corner sets, tables, TV units, rugs.
- Kitchen and appliances: fridge, washing machine, cooker, microwave, and kitchenware in dedicated boxes.
- Electronics: screens and computers, in their original boxes if you still have them.
- Personal boxes: clothes, books, papers, toys.
- The car: the family sedan on a two-deck enclosed carrier, or an open carrier if you want the lower price.
Collection areas in Ajman
We collect from every Ajman district and its residential towers, and we know each building has its own rules: some require the lift to be booked in advance, some set hours for moving, and some ask for a letter from the landlord or management company before furniture leaves. So we ask you about the building before the appointment, not on loading day.
Residential districts
Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya, Al Rawda, Al Mowaihat, Al Hamidiya, Al Nakhil, Al Rumailah, Al Jurf.
Corniche and towers
Ajman Corniche towers and sea-view buildings, where lifts are shared and booking is essential.
Newer communities
Emirates City, Al Yasmeen, Al Helio, Al Zorah, with longer distances between the building entrance and the truck.
Industrial and free zone
Ajman Free Zone and Al Jurf Industrial Area, for anyone shipping shop or office goods with the household.
If your flat is in Ajman and your office or storage is in Sharjah, both can go on one trip; our Industrial Area 18 branch in Sharjah is close to the Ajman border, and the Dubai branch in Deira – Port Saeed Street suits those who work there.
Dismantling bedrooms and bagging mattresses: how we prepare the flat
The piece that gets damaged most in flat moves isn’t the fridge, it’s the wardrobe. A big particle-board wardrobe can’t take being carried whole in a lift or down the stairs, and even if it survives that once, it won’t survive 900 km of vibration. So we dismantle everything that can be dismantled, collect each piece’s screws in its own labelled bag, and tape the bag to the piece itself:
- Bed: headboard, base and side rails come apart and are wrapped in blankets, then heavy-duty film.
- Wardrobe: doors, drawers and shelves come out; glass or mirrored doors are wrapped in cardboard and foam.
- Mirrors and pictures: in fitted cardboard boxes with corner protectors.
- Mattresses: each one in a thick, fully sealed plastic bag that keeps out dust and the coastal humidity of Khobar.
- Sofas: legs removed where possible, fabric wrapped in film and then blankets at the corners.
- Appliances: the washing machine drum is secured; the fridge is emptied and dried the day before and moved upright.

Numbering boxes and the contents list
A box without a number gets opened in the living room and stays there for a week. We suggest a simple system: each room gets a letter or colour, and each box carries a running number and the room name on two sides. Then write the contents list in Arabic or English using the same numbers: “Box 14 – children’s room – clothes and toys”. This list isn’t a nice-to-have; Saudi customs asks for a detailed list of personal effects, and the receiver in Khobar uses it to know where each box goes without opening it.
- Start with the things you don’t need: books, seasonal clothes, decorations.
- Keep one “first night” box: sheets, towels, chargers, bathroom things and a few dishes. It’s loaded last and unloaded first.
- Valuables, official papers and gold don’t travel with the furniture; carry them yourself.
- Mark glass boxes “fragile” with this-way-up arrows.
- Send us a photo of the list the day before loading so we can match it with the documents.
Flat size and truck type
There’s no fixed volume for a flat: a bedroom with a six-door wardrobe is not the same as one with a bed and a small cupboard. The table below is a rough estimate from experience; your list or video is what decides in the end.
| Flat size | Usual vehicle | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Studio or one room with few items | Shared truck or small closed dyna (about 3 tons) | Shared is cheaper but waits a few days to fill |
| Full one-bedroom flat | Shared truck or 5-ton dyna | Depends on the number of large appliances |
| Two-bedroom flat | 7-ton dyna or 10-ton lorry | Best fit for the streets inside Al Aqrabiyah |
| Three bedrooms or more | 10-ton lorry or closed trailer 12 – 13.6 m | A trailer needs wide parking at the building |
In a shared truck you pay per cubic metre, which works for people moving part of their home. If you’re moving a whole flat and want a set arrival date, a dedicated truck leaves on the day you choose and doesn’t wait for other loads.
The road route from Ajman to Khobar
The truck leaves Ajman through Sharjah and Dubai to Abu Dhabi, then west to Al Ghuwaifat, and across to Al Batha in Saudi Arabia, where customs clearance is done electronically through the Fasah platform. From there it heads to Al Ahsa (Hofuf) and north along the eastern highway to Dammam and Khobar. The distance is a little longer than from Dubai, roughly 900 to 1,000 km, but what really decides the arrival day is how quickly clearance goes at Al Batha, and that depends on a clear contents list and complete papers.
If you’re comparing Khobar with other Saudi cities, routes and timings are in the Ajman to Saudi Arabia shipping guide, and if the new home is in Dammam, see the Ajman to Dammam shipping guide.
Approximate transit times
Times below are approximate, counted from the day the truck leaves, and include clearance.
| Destination | Road freight (approx.) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Al Aqrabiyah and central Khobar (Al Khobar Al Shamaliyah, Al Khobar Al Janubiyah, Al Yarmouk) | 2 – 4 days | Buildings with lifts; parking arranged in advance |
| Al Ulaya, Al Rakah and Al Hizam Al Dhahabi | 2 – 4 days | Villas, newer buildings and compounds |
| Dhahran and Half Moon Bay | 2 – 4 days | Residential compounds with entry permits |
| Dammam | 2 – 4 days | Minutes from Khobar |
| Al Ahsa (Hofuf) | 2 – 3 days | On the way, before Khobar |
| Jubail | 3 – 5 days | North of Dammam |
Shipping a sedan on a two-deck enclosed carrier
Many families ship their car with the furniture instead of selling it in the UAE and buying another in Saudi Arabia. We ship the sedan on a two-deck enclosed carrier: the car is raised to the upper deck or stays on the lower one, strapped down by the wheels, and stays protected from dust, sun and road gravel the whole way. It can also go on an open multi-car carrier if a lower price matters more to you than cover. Either way, the car is handed over completely empty: no boxes in the boot and nothing on the seats. Belongings go in the furniture truck.
- Vehicle registration (mulkiya) in your name.
- Export certificate and plate cancellation from the Ajman licensing authority (or the RTA if the car is registered in Dubai).
- Owner’s passport and ID.
- Age rule: an imported used passenger car must not be more than 5 years old from the model year, counted back excluding the current year. Tell us the model year first.
- If the car is under a bank loan or registered to someone else, we check its status with you before any booking.

Air freight from Ajman to Khobar
Furniture doesn’t fly, but there are things you’ll need in Khobar before the truck arrives: a suitcase of work clothes, the children’s school papers, a work computer, or official documents. We send these by air from Sharjah airport, close to Ajman, or from Dubai airport to King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, then by road to Khobar, usually in about 1 to 2 days including clearance. The price is based on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, where volumetric weight = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000; a 70 × 50 × 30 cm suitcase has a volumetric weight of 17.5 kg.
- Good for air: documents, clothes, light urgent personal items.
- Not suitable: furniture and large appliances.
- Restricted by air: lithium batteries (laptops and power banks need checking), liquids and perfumes.

Required documents
Flat furniture and personal effects
- Copy of the owner’s passport.
- Saudi ID, iqama or residence visa of the owner of the goods.
- A detailed contents list in Arabic or English, matching the box numbers.
- New items in commercial quantities (ten identical boxed pieces, for example) are treated as goods and are dutiable, so don’t mix them with used furniture.
Commercial goods
If you have shop or office goods with you: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, a SABER certificate for many consumer products, SFDA requirements for food, cosmetics and medicines, and a consignee in Saudi Arabia with a commercial registration. Goods of UAE origin with a GCC certificate of origin are exempt from customs duty, and 15% VAT applies on imports.
Cars
Registration, export certificate and plate cancellation, owner’s passport and ID, and an empty car, subject to the age rule above.
What doesn’t travel with the flat furniture
Narcotics, alcohol, pork products, weapons and ammunition without permits, counterfeit goods and gambling tools are not allowed in. Drones and some medicines need prior permits, and soil and plants are restricted, so don’t ship the balcony plants in their pots. Common mistakes in flat moves: the kitchen gas cylinder, leftover paint tins and concentrated cleaning products. These are not loaded with the furniture.
Warning: Personal medicines should travel in personal-use quantities with the prescription, ideally carried by you. Send us the name of any unusual medicine before packing so we can check it.
Prices start from
The final price depends on volume, weight, delivery city, packing and documents; these figures are starting prices only.
| Service | Price starts from |
|---|---|
| Furniture and belongings in a shared truck | 90 AED per cubic metre |
| Small parcels by road | 45 AED |
| Sedan on an open carrier | 2,000 AED |
| SUV on an open carrier | 2,750 AED |
| Car on a two-deck enclosed carrier | 4,100 AED |
| Dedicated truck for a whole flat | Send the details on WhatsApp and get the price |
| Air freight for urgent items | Send the details on WhatsApp and get the price |
What decides the cost of a flat move?
- Volume in cubic metres: the number of rooms matters less than the size of what’s in them.
- Floor and lift: a small lift, or none, means more time and more crew at both ends.
- Packing level: full wrapping of every piece, or only the delicate ones.
- Dismantling and assembly: bedrooms and big wardrobes take time to take apart and rebuild.
- Shared or dedicated: shared is cheaper but waits to fill; dedicated runs on your date.
- The car: open or enclosed carrier.
- Delivery conditions: a compound with entry permits or a narrow street may need a smaller truck for the last stretch.
Steps to move your flat from Ajman to Khobar
- Film a short room-by-room video of the flat and send it on WhatsApp +971557643821 with your Khobar address.
- We estimate the volume and truck type, send you the price, and agree the dismantling and loading date.
- You book the lift with building management in Ajman and get the passport and ID or iqama copies ready.
- Loading day: dismantling, wrapping, numbering, then checking the list with you before the truck is closed.
- The car ships on the same date or close to it, depending on the carrier’s schedule.
- The team updates you on WhatsApp at each stage: departure, Al Batha border, end of clearance.
- In Khobar: unloading, lift up, reassembly of bedrooms and wardrobes, and boxes checked by number.
Delivery in Al Aqrabiyah and central Khobar
Al Aqrabiyah is one of Khobar’s oldest and most built-up districts, close to King Fahd Road and to services, which is why many newcomers pick it for their first home. Its inner streets are narrower than in the newer districts, and parking a long truck outside a building during the day isn’t always easy, so we agree the parking spot and lift time with the receiver or the building watchman in advance, and may switch to a smaller dyna for the last stretch. It’s much the same in Al Khobar Al Shamaliyah, Al Khobar Al Janubiyah and Al Yarmouk.
If the new home is in a gated residential compound, as in Dhahran, Al Rakah or along the Half Moon Bay road, gate access has to be arranged beforehand, and some compounds don’t let large trucks in, so we transfer to a smaller truck at the gate. We ask you for the compound name and the security contact a day before the truck arrives. And because Khobar is so humid, we don’t leave mattresses and sofas uncovered in the street; they go straight up to the flat.
Sea freight from Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam is used for containers and large commercial loads, while road stays the usual way for flats and cars because it’s faster and reaches the building door.

Tips before moving day
- Settle electricity and water bills in Ajman and get a clearance letter if the building asks for one before furniture leaves.
- Photograph appliances and valuable furniture before packing.
- Ask the team about optional insurance if the shipment includes valuable pieces.
- Don’t book the Khobar flat handover for the same day as loading; leave a margin for clearance.
- Keep screw bags with their piece, not in a separate box.
- If you can, switch on the AC in the new Khobar flat before unloading; heat and humidity are hard on particle board.
