Preparing a washing machine
The key step is refitting the transit bolts in the back of an automatic washer. They hold the inner drum so it cannot swing and break its springs on the road. If the original bolts are lost, we brace the drum with polystyrene or foam. Before that, the machine is drained through the pump filter and left open for a day to dry so it does not smell musty on arrival. Hoses and cable are coiled inside the drum, the door taped shut, and the whole machine wrapped in cardboard and film.
The TV: standing, never lying flat
A flat screen always travels upright. Laid on its back with road vibration, the panel can crack inside without any visible mark outside. The best protection is its original box with the foam; without it, we build a wooden frame or reinforced box with foam corners. The stand, remote and cables go in a bag taped to the back of the same box.
Cartons and suitcases
Heavy items in small cartons, light items in big ones: books and dishes in small cartons that one person can carry, blankets and pillows in large ones. Plates are wrapped one by one and stood on edge. Leave no empty space inside a carton; fill it with paper or clothes so it does not collapse when other cartons are stacked on it in a shared truck.

Air freight from Ajman to Syria

Delivery in Hama and other governorates
After clearance at Nasib the truck reaches Damascus and continues north to Homs and Hama. Before arrival the team calls the receiver to agree a time and asks about the floor, whether there is a lift and how wide the street is. Many residential buildings in Hama have no lift or a narrow staircase, so cartons and appliances are carried up by hand, and on narrow streets the last stretch is done in a smaller vehicle.
