We arrive at the hour the management has set. One crew starts inside the apartment, dismantling and packing room by room, while another pads the lift and prepares the corridor. Small cartons go down first because they are quick, then the large wrapped pieces, and last whatever needs the hoist. Downstairs the driver stows the load: heavy items on the floor, mattresses and sofas along the sides, glass in the middle away from the walls. A two-bedroom flat usually takes one day; three bedrooms or more with a hoist may take a day and a half. Before we leave we walk through the rooms, wardrobes and balcony with you so nothing is forgotten, and hand the lift back to the management as clean as we found it.

After bringing it down we number the dismantled parts, bag the screws with the piece name written on each bag, and wrap everything before it goes on the truck. In Muscat we reverse the process: we check the lift in your new building and place the furniture in its rooms.
