Looking for a shipping company from Fujairah to Bahrain that will take apart your kitchen, wrap your dishes and bring your car to your door in Isa Town? Al Basmah International Shipping collects from your home in Fujairah, Dibba or Masafi. The truck takes the mountain road west to the Al Ghuwaifat border, crosses Saudi Arabia in transit to the King Fahd Causeway and delivers anywhere in Bahrain in about 2–4 days door to door. Household furniture in a shared truck starts from AED 90 per cubic metre, and a car in an enclosed carrier starts from AED 4,100. The final price depends on volume, weight, city, packing and documents.

Getting the kitchen ready

  • Approximate time from Fujairah to Isa Town and the rest of Bahrain: 2–4 days by road, clearance included.
  • Empty the fridge and freezer a full day before collection and leave the doors open until they are completely dry; a damp, closed fridge arrives smelling.
  • Plates and glasses travel in divided cartons, each piece wrapped on its own and stood on its edge, not laid flat.
  • Dining-table legs come off, and a glass top gets its own cardboard frame and travels upright.
  • Gas cylinders do not go on the truck; the cooker is disconnected and its openings capped before wrapping.
  • Air freight (about 1–2 days) suits documents and light urgent items only, not furniture.

This guide is written for a family moving from the east coast to Bahrain with a full kitchen, a dining room and a small car, and for a Fujairah business sending goods to a customer in Manama or Sitra. It covers what we move, where we collect from, how the route runs, how long it takes, which documents are needed at the causeway, and what pushes the cost up or down.

What we ship from Fujairah to Bahrain

We move whole homes or part of them, cars, commercial goods and small parcels. What we see most from Fujairah homes is the kitchen and everything around it: dinner sets, pots, appliances and the dining table with its chairs. A family moving to Bahrain wants to cook in the new house in the first week rather than buy everything again.

Kitchenware and dinner sets

Plates, glasses, glassware, pots and serving sets in divided cartons, numbered by room.

Appliances

Fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave and dismantled AC units, with moving parts secured.

Dining and living rooms

Wooden or glass dining tables, chairs, sideboards, sofas and bedrooms, dismantled and reassembled in Bahrain on request.

Family cars

Hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs on an open or enclosed carrier, depending on the car and your preference.

Commercial goods

Packaged food orders, spare parts, building tools and shop stock, with an invoice and packing list.

Parcels and personal items

Suitcases, clothes cartons and books in a shared truck, from AED 45 for a small parcel.

If the load is small, a single room or just the kitchen, a shared truck is the cheaper choice because you pay for the cubic metres you use. For a full home of four rooms or more you will usually need a dedicated 7-ton dyna or 10-ton lorry that leaves on the date you choose.

Pickup areas in Fujairah and the east coast

We collect from any address in the Emirate of Fujairah and from the neighbouring towns on the east coast. The team sets the collection time on WhatsApp and arrives with packers and materials on the day; the load then goes to the consolidation point before heading west.

  • Fujairah city: Al Faseel, Sakamkam, Merashid, Al Hail and its industrial area, Al Gurfa, and Madhab near the corniche.
  • Outlying towns and villages: Murbah, Qidfa, Bidiyah, Al Tawiyeen, Masafi and Dibba Al Fujairah to the north.
  • Industrial and free zones: Fujairah Free Zone and the Fujairah Port area for commercial goods and warehouses.
  • Neighbouring east coast: Kalba and Khor Fakkan (part of Sharjah), collected on the same Fujairah run.

If you live in a building in Al Faseel or Merashid, tell us the floor, whether there is a service lift and whether a truck can stop at the entrance. These details decide how many crew we send and what size of vehicle comes for collection.

The route: from the Fujairah mountains to the King Fahd Causeway

The shipment travels almost entirely by road. The truck leaves Fujairah on the mountain road towards Masafi and Al Dhaid, then heads west past Abu Dhabi along the coastal highway to the Al Ghuwaifat border with Saudi Arabia. This first leg is a little longer than a departure from Dubai, because the east coast sits behind the Hajar mountains, but it adds only a few hours to the trip.

  1. Collection and packing in Fujairah, then weighing and listing every carton on a detailed contents list.
  2. The mountain road west via Masafi and Al Dhaid, then the coastal highway south of Abu Dhabi to Al Ghuwaifat.
  3. Al Ghuwaifat – Al Batha border: the load is sealed and declared in transit, so it is not cleared into Saudi Arabia.
  4. Across Saudi Arabia via Al Ahsa to Dammam and Khobar, then onto the King Fahd Causeway.
  5. King Fahd Causeway (about 25 km over the sea): both countries’ customs sit on the middle island, where Bahraini clearance is done.
  6. Delivery inside Bahrain: Manama, Muharraq, Isa Town, Riffa, Budaiya and the rest, with assembly if you ask for it.

Because the Saudi leg is a transit, the documents must be complete before the truck leaves Fujairah. Anything missing that is found at Al Batha or on the causeway means the truck waits until it is sorted. That is why we ask for photos of the papers on WhatsApp and check them the day before loading. If part of your goods is going to the Eastern Province itself, see our Fujairah to Dammam guide, and the Fujairah to Saudi Arabia guide explains the transit road in more detail.

How long does it take from Fujairah to each part of Bahrain?

Door to door it takes about 2–4 days to most of Bahrain, including clearance at the border and on the causeway. Bahrain is small, so once the truck is over the causeway, delivery anywhere takes a matter of hours. A shared load may wait a few extra days for the truck to fill; a dedicated truck leaves on your date.

Area in Bahrain Approx. time by road Note
Manama 2–4 days Large trucks may have time windows for the city centre
Muharraq 2–4 days Old quarters are narrow; we may transfer to a smaller dyna
Seef and Juffair 2–4 days Tower apartments; we book the service lift with building management
Riffa 2–4 days Villas and family homes, usually with good parking space
Isa Town and Hamad Town 2–4 days Family houses; unloading and assembly usually on the same day
Budaiya 2–4 days Garden villas; we ask about gate width in advance
Amwaj Islands 2–4 days Island access coordinated with security; a morning slot works best

All times are approximate and are affected by public holidays, weekend traffic on the causeway and how quickly the documents are completed.

Air freight from Fujairah to Bahrain

Air freight suits what is urgent and light: official papers, commercial samples, urgent spare parts, or a suitcase a family member needs before the truck arrives. We collect in Fujairah and take the shipment to Sharjah or Dubai airport, then on to Bahrain International Airport in Muharraq, usually in 1–2 days including clearance.

  • Chargeable weight is the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight: length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000.
  • A 60×40×40 cm carton has a volumetric weight of about 16 kg, so if it is lighter it is charged as 16 kg.
  • Lithium batteries, liquids and perfumes are restricted on air freight, so ask the team before packing.
  • Furniture and large appliances do not suit air; the cost climbs steeply with little real gain over 2–4 days by road.

For an air freight price, send the dimensions, weight and contents on WhatsApp and you will receive the price.

Packing the kitchen and the home before shipping

The kitchen needs the most care on a long move, because glass, porcelain and heavy appliances all sit in one room. Our crew does the packing, but knowing how it is done helps if you want to pack some things yourself.

Plates, glasses and glassware

We use double-wall cartons with cardboard dividers. Each piece is wrapped in packing paper and stood on its edge, because a plate on its edge takes vibration far better than one lying flat. Glasses go into separate cells, and gaps are filled with crumpled paper so nothing moves inside the box. Any carton with glass is marked “fragile” with an arrow pointing up, and it is loaded on top of heavy cartons, never underneath.

Pots, utensils and food

Pots nest inside one another with paper between them, and knives are wrapped in stiff card. We do not recommend shipping opened food or liquids; sealed tins in household quantities can go in a separate carton labelled with its contents.

Appliances

  • Fridge and freezer: emptied and unplugged a day before, left open to dry, shelves taped in place, then wrapped in blankets and plastic.
  • Washing machine: water drained and the drum transit bolts fitted if you still have them, so the drum is not damaged by road vibration.
  • Oven and cooker: gas disconnected, openings capped, grids and knobs removed and bagged to the appliance.
  • Microwave and small appliances: in their original boxes if you have them, otherwise in cartons with foam padding.

Dining table and chairs

The table legs come off and the screws go into a bag taped under the top. A wooden top is wrapped in a blanket and then plastic; a glass or marble top gets its own cardboard or wooden frame and travels upright on its side against the truck wall. Upholstered chairs are covered in plastic to keep dust off and stacked upside down with spacers.

Bahrain summers are very humid, so plastic should not stay sealed tight around wood for long after arrival. Unwrap within a day or two of delivery and let the pieces breathe, and put moisture absorbers inside wardrobes and drawers for the journey.

Car shipping from Fujairah to Bahrain

We move the family car on an open multi-car carrier or an enclosed carrier. For small hatchbacks we prefer the enclosed carrier: they sit low and have a large rear window, which makes them more exposed to dust and flying gravel on a long road, and the enclosed carrier protects them from the mountains all the way to the causeway. Sedans and SUVs usually travel safely on an open carrier.

  • Sedan on an open carrier: from AED 2,000.
  • SUV on an open carrier: from AED 2,750.
  • Any car on an enclosed carrier: from AED 4,100.

Before booking, the team checks the car’s model year and specifications against Bahrain’s current conditions for importing used cars. Bahrain sets rules on age, specifications and inspection, and we do not load a car until we know it will be accepted. The car is handed over empty of personal belongings with little fuel in the tank, and we photograph it from every side at collection and send you the photos on WhatsApp.

Documents needed to ship from Fujairah to Bahrain

The paperwork depends on the type of shipment. Bahrain customs clears shipments electronically through the OFOQ system, so documents are submitted before the truck reaches the causeway.

Personal effects and used furniture

  • A copy of the owner’s passport.
  • Bahraini CPR (smart ID card) or Bahrain residence permit.
  • A detailed contents list in Arabic or English: number of cartons, what is in each, appliances and furniture.

Used belongings of someone moving to Bahrain are treated as personal effects, while new items in commercial quantities are dutiable.

Commercial goods

  • Commercial invoice and packing list.
  • Certificate of origin; goods of UAE (GCC) origin with a GCC certificate of origin are exempt from customs duty.
  • The Bahraini consignee’s commercial registration (CR).
  • Food, medicines and cosmetics have extra health requirements.

Goods of non-GCC origin usually carry the general customs duty of 5%, and Bahrain applies 10% VAT on imports.

Cars

  • Vehicle registration (ownership card) in the owner’s name.
  • UAE export certificate and plate cancellation.
  • The owner’s ID.
  • The car completely empty of personal belongings.

Prohibited and restricted items for Bahrain

  • Prohibited: narcotics, weapons and ammunition without permits, counterfeit goods, gambling equipment.
  • Restricted: alcohol and pork products.
  • Prior permit needed: drones and some medicines.
  • Not loaded with household goods: gas cylinders, flammable materials and concentrated cleaning liquids.

Warning: Carry personal medicines in your own bag with the prescription rather than packing them in cartons. Some medicines need a permit, and a whole load can be held on the causeway because of one unapproved box of tablets.

Prices from Fujairah to Bahrain

These prices are starting points; the final price depends on volume, weight, the area in Bahrain, packing and documents.

Service Price
Furniture and household goods in a shared truck From AED 90 per cubic metre
Small parcels by road From AED 45
Sedan on an open carrier From AED 2,000
SUV on an open carrier From AED 2,750
Car on an enclosed carrier From AED 4,100
Dedicated truck, air freight, containers Send the details on WhatsApp and you will receive the price

A rough example: a full kitchen with a six-seat dining table, a fridge and two washing machines usually takes 8 to 12 cubic metres, so that is what is charged in a shared truck, plus packing if you want it.

What decides the cost?

  • Volume in cubic metres: the main factor for furniture; shipping less cuts the bill directly.
  • Truck type: shared or dedicated, 3-, 5- or 7-ton dyna, 10-ton lorry or a 12–13.6 m closed trailer.
  • Packing: divided cartons for the kitchen, frames for glass and marble, blankets for furniture.
  • Dismantling and assembly: bedrooms, wardrobes and large dining tables.
  • Collection and delivery address: a walk-up floor, or a narrow Muharraq lane that needs a smaller vehicle.
  • Documents: complete papers avoid waiting days on the causeway.
  • Optional insurance: ask the team about it if your appliances or furniture are of high value.

  4. The packing crew arrives on time, packs the kitchen and furniture, numbers the cartons and writes the contents list.
  5. The truck heads west to Al Ghuwaifat, and you get a WhatsApp update at each stage: the border, transit entry, arrival at the causeway and end of clearance.
  6. Delivery to your home in Bahrain, with unloading into the rooms and assembly of whatever you asked for.

Tips before shipping from Fujairah

Label each carton with the room in the new house, not the old one. If the kitchen in your Isa Town house is on the ground floor, write “Kitchen – ground” so the crew puts the boxes in the right place first time.

  • Book at least a week before your move, especially at the end of the school term when many families relocate.
  • Keep a “first day” box with you: mugs, a kettle, a few plates, cleaning supplies and chargers.
  • Photograph the back of each appliance before unplugging it, so reconnecting in Bahrain is easy.
  • Do not pack official papers, gold or cash in cartons; carry them yourself.
  • Check the width of the door and lift in Bahrain before shipping large pieces such as an American-style fridge or a sideboard.

Delivery in Bahrain: Isa Town and the rest of the country

Isa Town is one of the most common destinations for families we move from Fujairah: quiet residential blocks, two-storey houses and streets that usually let the truck stop at the door. We unload into the rooms, assemble bedrooms and the dining table, put appliances in place and take away packing materials on request.

Delivery in Isa Town — from Fujairah

We also deliver to Manama, Juffair, Adliya, Seef, Bahrain Bay and Sanabis; to Muharraq, Busaiteen, Amwaj Islands and Diyar Al Muharraq; and to Riffa, Hamad Town, Saar, Budaiya, Janabiya, Sitra, Hidd, Tubli and Salmabad.

The Saudi leg and clearance on the King Fahd Causeway

The truck crosses Saudi Arabia with a sealed load declared in transit, so it is neither opened nor cleared there. Bahraini clearance is done on the causeway’s middle island, where both countries’ customs sit, and once it is complete the truck enters Bahrain directly. Large trucks may face time windows on the causeway and in Manama, and the team arranges the delivery time with you around them.

Road or sea?

For furniture, cars and ordinary orders, road is the fastest and simplest option. Full containers and heavy commercial cargo can go by sea from Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi to Khalifa Bin Salman Port in Hidd: a short sailing plus port handling and clearance. Fujairah’s own port faces the Gulf of Oman rather than the Arabian Gulf, so a container is moved to one of those two ports before sailing. For a container price, send the details on WhatsApp and you will receive the price.

If you live in Sharjah or Khor Fakkan, the Sharjah to Bahrain guide has extra options; for the full picture across every emirate see the UAE to Bahrain guide, and if another Gulf destination is on your mind, see shipping from Fujairah to Qatar.

Frequently asked questions about shipping from Fujairah to Bahrain

How long does furniture take from Fujairah to Bahrain?

About 2 to 4 days door to door, clearance included, in a dedicated truck. A shared load may wait a few extra days for the truck to fill before it leaves.

Does the shipment pass through Saudi Arabia, and do I need a visa or clearance there?

Yes, the truck crosses Saudi Arabia in transit from Al Batha to the King Fahd Causeway, and the load is sealed and not cleared into Saudi Arabia. You do not travel with the truck and need no personal formalities there; what matters is that the shipment’s documents are complete before departure.

How are plates and glass sets packed so they do not break?

In double-wall cartons with dividers, each piece wrapped on its own and stood on its edge, gaps filled with crumpled paper, the carton marked “fragile” and loaded on top of heavier boxes.

Do you ship the fridge and washing machine?

Yes. The fridge is emptied and left open for a day to dry, with shelves secured, and the washing machine is drained with its drum fixed. We advise not switching the fridge on straight away; let it stand upright for a few hours first.

Why do you recommend an enclosed carrier for a hatchback?

Because it sits low and has a wide rear window, and the road from Fujairah to Bahrain is long, dusty and has flying gravel. The enclosed carrier starts from AED 4,100 and protects the paint and glass all the way.

Is there direct air freight from Fujairah airport?

We collect in Fujairah and fly the shipment through Sharjah or Dubai airport to Bahrain International Airport in Muharraq in about 1–2 days, charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher.

Do I pay customs on my used furniture in Bahrain?

Used furniture and belongings of someone moving to Bahrain are treated as personal effects when you present your passport, CPR or residence permit, and the contents list. New items in commercial quantities are dutiable.

How do I know where my shipment is?

The team sends you a WhatsApp update at each stage: truck departure, Al Ghuwaifat border, transit entry, arrival at the causeway, end of clearance and then the delivery time.

To send your shipment details through a form, use the quote request page, or contact us directly.
