If you need a shipping company from Ras Al Khaimah to Bahrain to move a beach villa’s furniture, garden lounge sets, fishing gear and paddleboards, or a 4×4, Al Basmah International Shipping collects from your home in Al Hamra, Al Marjan, Al Nakheel or anywhere else in the emirate, packs each piece with sea air and humidity in mind, and prepares the transit documents before the truck leaves. The route is by road: from Ras Al Khaimah down to the Al Ghuwaifat border, in transit across Saudi Arabia to Dammam and Khobar, then over the King Fahd Causeway into Bahrain. Most loads reach Manama, Muharraq and Amwaj Islands in roughly 2–4 days door to door, clearance included, and household goods in a shared truck start from 90 AED per cubic metre.

Preparing outdoor items
- Rinse garden and lounge furniture of salt and let it dry for a full day before packing, or the moisture gets sealed in.
- Paddleboards and kayaks get foam on the edges and fins, then rigid cardboard, and never travel under heavy furniture.
- Outboard motors and barbecue kits must be fully drained of fuel and gas; full cylinders are not loaded.
- Modified or high-value 4x4s go in an enclosed carrier, starting from 4,100 AED.
- Delivery on Amwaj Islands needs advance access arranged with the community; we set the slot with you on WhatsApp.
What we ship from Ras Al Khaimah to Bahrain
We ship anything that leaves a home or a business in Ras Al Khaimah: full villa contents, a small flat, cars, commercial goods and parcels. Families living by the water in Al Hamra, Al Marjan or Mina Al Arab tend to own things you don’t see in an ordinary flat move, and those get extra care.
- Beach villa furniture: sofas, bedroom sets, solid-wood dining tables, wardrobes and large mirrors.
- Outdoor furniture: rattan and aluminium lounge sets, pool loungers, parasols with their concrete or steel bases, garden swings.
- Marine and hobby gear: stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, fishing rods and tackle boxes, wetsuits and fins, bicycles.
- Vehicles: sedans, family cars and 4x4s; off-road builds go enclosed.
- Commercial goods: building materials, marble and ceramics from the factories around Ras Al Khaimah, and stock or equipment from free-zone companies.
- Small parcels: boxes of clothes and personal items, by road from 45 AED.
Pickup areas in Ras Al Khaimah
We collect from any address in the emirate, from Shaam in the north to Al Hamra and Al Jazirah Al Hamra in the south. These are the areas most of our Bahrain loads come from:
Coast and villas
Al Hamra Village, Al Marjan Island, Mina Al Arab, Al Jazirah Al Hamra and the beachfront communities.
City centre
Al Nakheel, Al Dhait North and South, Al Mamourah, Khuzam, Julphar, Al Qusaidat, Sidroh.
North and mountains
Al Rams, Shaam, Khatt, Digdaga and the farmhouses along the Khatt road.
Industrial and free zone
RAKEZ in Al Hamra and Al Ghail, and the industrial areas around Saqr Port and Al Jazirah Al Hamra.
If your home is inside a gated community such as Al Hamra or Al Marjan, tell us its name so we can request truck access in advance. Some communities only allow loading at set hours, and knowing that the day before saves hours at the gate.
The road route from Ras Al Khaimah to Bahrain
Road freight carries most loads, because Bahrain is linked to Saudi Arabia by the King Fahd Causeway and there is no direct land road from the UAE. The truck leaves Ras Al Khaimah on Emirates Road or Mohammed Bin Zayed Road through the northern emirates, then heads west along the coastal road to the Al Ghuwaifat border. For Ras Al Khaimah this first leg is the longest of any emirate, which is why we like an early start.
- Ras Al Khaimah → Al Ghuwaifat: inside the UAE; the load is sealed and export papers issued.
- Al Ghuwaifat – Al Batha: the truck enters Saudi Arabia in transit. The load is sealed and declared as transit only, so it is not opened or cleared into the Kingdom.
- Al Batha → Al Ahsa → Dammam and Khobar: desert highway, then the Eastern Province to the causeway.
- King Fahd Causeway: about 25 km over the sea; both countries’ customs sit on its middle island, and Bahraini clearance happens there.
- Inside Bahrain: once over the causeway the truck reaches any area quickly; distances are short.
Because the Saudi leg is a customs transit, the paperwork must be complete before the truck leaves Ras Al Khaimah. Anything missing is found at the first border, not in Manama. For the Saudi leg in detail, see our Ras Al Khaimah to Saudi Arabia guide, and the Ras Al Khaimah to Dammam guide covers the area where the causeway begins.
Transit times from Ras Al Khaimah to Bahrain
These are approximate door-to-door times by road, including clearance on the causeway:
| Area in Bahrain | Approx. time by road | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Manama | 2–3 days | Large trucks in the capital need a timed slot |
| Muharraq | 2–4 days | Older lanes served by a smaller truck when needed |
| Seef & Juffair | 2–3 days | Towers need the service lift booked |
| Riffa | 2–4 days | Spacious villas, unloading usually easy |
| Isa Town & Hamad Town | 2–4 days | Wide roads, direct access |
| Budaiya | 3–4 days | Farmhouses need a precise location pin |
| Amwaj Islands | 3–4 days | Community access arranged before arrival |
A shared load may wait a few extra days for the truck to fill; a dedicated truck leaves on the date you choose. The team sends you a WhatsApp update at loading, at each border and before arrival at your address.
Air freight from Ras Al Khaimah to Bahrain
For urgent, light items there is air freight. We collect in Ras Al Khaimah and hand the shipment to Dubai, Sharjah or Abu Dhabi airport, flying into Bahrain International Airport in Muharraq, usually in 1–2 days including clearance. It suits documents, spare parts, expensive fishing reels or dive accessories you want before the furniture arrives, and the family’s first suitcase of clothes.

- How it is priced: actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher. Volumetric weight = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000.
- What it doesn’t suit: furniture, paddleboards and kayaks; their size makes the volumetric weight very high, and road is far cheaper.
- Restricted by air: loose lithium batteries (including e-bike batteries and some electric boat motors), liquids and perfumes.
- Price: send the details on WhatsApp and we’ll send you the price.
A quick example: a 320 × 80 × 15 cm paddleboard has a volumetric weight of about 64 kg even if it weighs 12 kg on the scale. That is why we always suggest sending it by road with the rest of the load.
Packing beach-house and marine items
Salt and humidity are the problem with coastal homes. Bahrain itself is a very humid island in summer, so any moisture trapped in the packing in Ras Al Khaimah shows up as mould or rust when the box is opened on Amwaj or in Muharraq. We follow a clear order:

- Rinse and dry first: outdoor sets, parasols and fishing gear are rinsed with fresh water and left to dry completely. We ask you to do this the day before loading.
- Packing that breathes: rattan and outdoor wood are wrapped in blankets and cardboard, not tight plastic alone, so they don’t sweat.
- Desiccant sachets: inside boxes of electronics, mirrors and metal tools.
- Paddleboards and kayaks: foam on edges and fins, rigid cardboard over that, loaded upright against the truck wall or on top of the load, never underneath.
- Fishing gear: rods go in a hard tube, reels are removed and wrapped individually, hooks and lures in closed cases.
- Outboard motors and barbecue kits: drained of fuel, oil and gas, and fixed to a wooden base.
- Indoor furniture: beds and wardrobes dismantled, glass with corner guards, sofas in a fabric cover and then plastic.
Label each box with the room in the new house, not the old one: “Master bedroom – first floor”, “Outdoor store”, “Terrace”. The unloading crew on Amwaj won’t know the rooms of your house in Al Hamra.
Shipping a 4×4 from Ras Al Khaimah to Bahrain
Plenty of Ras Al Khaimah residents keep a 4×4 for the desert and the mountains. A standard car travels on an open multi-car carrier; a modified or high-value one is better in an enclosed carrier, fully covered against dust, gravel and humidity all the way to Bahrain.

- Open carrier: sedans from 2,000 AED, SUVs and 4x4s from 2,750 AED.
- Enclosed carrier: from 4,100 AED, the right choice for lifted vehicles or cars with special tyres and accessories.
- External accessories: roof boxes, bike racks and extra lights are removed and shipped in the load, or listed on the inspection sheet.
- Off-road modifications: a lift kit or non-standard tyres may come into Bahrain’s inspection conditions; the team checks this before shipping.
Bahrain sets conditions on imported used cars covering model year, specifications and inspection. Our team checks your car’s model year and specifications against Bahrain’s current conditions before it leaves, so it doesn’t get stuck at the causeway.
Documents for shipping to Bahrain
Bahrain clears shipments electronically through the OFOQ system, and tidy paperwork means a faster crossing. What you need depends on the shipment:
Personal effects
Passport copy, Bahraini CPR (ID card) or residence permit, and a detailed contents list in Arabic or English.
Commercial goods
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and the Bahraini consignee’s commercial registration (CR).
Cars
Registration/ownership, UAE export certificate with plate cancellation, owner’s ID, and a car empty of belongings.
Food, medicines, cosmetics
Extra health requirements, reviewed with the team before booking.
Goods of UAE origin with a GCC certificate of origin are exempt from customs duty. Other goods usually carry a 5% customs duty, and Bahrain applies 10% VAT on imports. New items in commercial quantities inside a household load are treated as goods and taxed, so don’t pack twenty new appliances in with the house boxes.
Prohibited and restricted items
- Prohibited: narcotics, weapons and ammunition without permits, counterfeit goods, gambling equipment.
- Restricted: alcohol and pork products.
- Prior permit needed: drones and some medicines.
- E-cigarettes and vape liquids are restricted; ask the team before packing them.
- We don’t load full gas cylinders, fuel left in boat motors or generators, or pressurised dive cylinders.
Warning: Spearguns are treated at many borders as items that need a permit. Don’t put one in the tackle box without telling the team first.
Prices from Ras Al Khaimah to Bahrain
Prices start from the figures below. The final price depends on volume, weight, the area in Bahrain, packing and documents:
| Service | Starts from |
|---|---|
| Household goods in a shared truck | 90 AED per cubic metre |
| Small parcels by road | 45 AED |
| Sedan on an open carrier | 2,000 AED |
| SUV / 4×4 on an open carrier | 2,750 AED |
| Car in an enclosed carrier | 4,100 AED |
| Dedicated truck (dyna, lorry, trailer) | Send the details on WhatsApp for the price |
| Air freight | Send the details on WhatsApp for the price |
| Containers and sea freight | Send the details on WhatsApp for the price |
What pushes the cost up or down
- Volume in cubic metres: outdoor sets are light but bulky; dismantling what you can lowers the volume.
- Shared or dedicated: a full villa with outdoor furniture often fills a 7-ton dyna or a 10-ton lorry, and then a dedicated truck makes more sense.
- Packing type: double packing for marine gear and wooden crates for marble and mirrors add cost.
- Pickup and delivery access: mountain villages in the north, community permits on Amwaj, or high floors without a lift.
- Complete paperwork: missing papers mean waiting at the border, and waiting costs money.
- Optional insurance: ask the team about optional insurance for your load.
How to ship, step by step
- Send your list or photos of the rooms and garden on WhatsApp +971557643821, with your Ras Al Khaimah address and the Bahrain address.
- We estimate the volume, suggest a shared or dedicated truck, and send you the price and the document list.
- You prepare the outdoor items: rinse, dry, drain fuel and gas.
- The packing crew arrives on time, dismantles, packs, numbers the boxes and writes the contents list.
- The truck is loaded and sealed, then heads for Al Ghuwaifat.
- Transit through Saudi Arabia, then Bahraini clearance on the King Fahd Causeway island.
- Delivery to your address, with beds and wardrobes reassembled on request.
Along the way the team updates you on WhatsApp at every stage. Orders are taken on WhatsApp around the clock, and you can also visit our Dubai branch on Port Saeed Street, Deira, or the Sharjah branch in Industrial Area 18.
Delivery in Bahrain: Amwaj and the rest of the island
Amwaj Islands is a group of man-made islands off the northeast of Muharraq, with waterfront villas and residential towers, reached from the Muharraq side. Coming from a coastal home in Ras Al Khaimah, you’ll find a similar setting: gated communities, security gates and set times for trucks.

- Access permit: we need the community name, villa number and the receiver’s mobile to arrange entry with security before arrival.
- Waterfront villas: outdoor furniture goes straight to the garden or terrace, indoor items to rooms by their labels.
- Towers: service lift and unloading slot booked with building management.
- The rest of Bahrain: we deliver to Manama, Juffair, Adliya, Seef, Bahrain Bay and Sanabis; Muharraq, Busaiteen, Diyar Al Muharraq and Hidd; Riffa, Isa Town and Hamad Town; Saar, Budaiya and Janabiya; Sitra, Tubli and Salmabad.
- Large trucks: may face time windows on the causeway and in Manama; the team sets the delivery time around them.
Road or sea?
Road suits furniture, cars and most goods: door to door and faster overall. Sea suits full containers and heavy commercial cargo, from Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi to Khalifa Bin Salman Port in Hidd, a short sailing plus port handling and clearance. For both options compared across all the emirates, see the UAE to Bahrain shipping guide.
Tips before shipping a coastal home to Bahrain
- Photograph outdoor furniture and any valuable gear before it is wrapped; it makes any check on delivery simple.
- Don’t leave fishing gear wet in the box to “dry on the way”; in a closed truck the moisture stays and hooks and reels rust.
- A concrete parasol base is very heavy for what it’s worth; buying a new one in Bahrain is sometimes cheaper than shipping it.
- Plants and soil carry agricultural restrictions; keep them out of the furniture load.
- Keep your first-night box (sheets, kitchen basics, phone charger) as the last thing loaded so it’s the first off.
- If you are comparing Gulf destinations, there is also shipping from Ras Al Khaimah to Qatar, which starts through the same border.
If part of your load sits in a neighbouring emirate, we can collect from more than one address on the same truck; see for example Umm Al Quwain to Bahrain or Fujairah to Bahrain.
Frequently asked questions
How long does shipping from Ras Al Khaimah to Bahrain take?
By road, roughly 2–4 days door to door including clearance, with Budaiya and Amwaj Islands nearer the upper end. A shared load may wait a few extra days for the truck to fill; air takes 1–2 days.
How much does it cost to ship furniture from Ras Al Khaimah to Bahrain?
Household goods in a shared truck start from 90 AED per cubic metre; the final price depends on volume, weight, area, packing and documents. For a dedicated truck, send the details on WhatsApp and we’ll send you the price.
Do you ship paddleboards and kayaks?
Yes. They are wrapped in foam on the edges and rigid cardboard and loaded where nothing heavy rests on them. By road they are priced per cubic metre; by air their volumetric weight is high and we don’t recommend it.
Can I ship an outboard motor?
Yes, once it is fully drained of fuel and oil and fixed to a wooden base. Tell the team its type and size before booking.
Does the load pass through Saudi Arabia, and do I need Saudi papers?
The truck crosses Saudi Arabia in transit from Al Ghuwaifat – Al Batha to the King Fahd Causeway, sealed and not cleared into the Kingdom. You don’t need separate Saudi papers, but the Bahrain documents must be complete before departure.
How does delivery on Amwaj Islands work?
We arrange truck access with community security before arrival, then unload outdoor furniture to the garden or terrace and indoor items to rooms by their labels. We need the community name, villa number and the receiver’s mobile.
Will I pay customs on my furniture in Bahrain?
Goods of UAE origin with a GCC certificate of origin are duty-exempt, and used personal effects for someone moving to Bahrain need a passport, CPR or residence permit and a contents list. New items in commercial quantities are dutiable, and Bahrain applies 10% VAT on imports.
Open or enclosed carrier for my car?
An open carrier takes several cars and starts from 2,000 AED for a sedan and 2,750 AED for an SUV; an enclosed carrier fully protects the car from dust, gravel and humidity and starts from 4,100 AED, the better choice for modified or high-value vehicles.
