Tower rules in Ajman: what to sort out before moving day

Most delays on an Ajman move come from the building, not the furniture: a lift nobody booked, a guard nobody told, a parking bay already taken. So we start with the building before the boxes. Most managements want at least a day’s notice for the service lift, some ask for a refundable deposit returned after the corridors are checked, and some older blocks have no loading bay, so the truck stops at the entrance.

If a building has no lift fit for furniture, or a wardrobe is bigger than the lift door, the crew carries pieces down the stairs with shoulder straps, taking apart whatever needs it so railings and walls stay unmarked.

How your Ajman flat move works, step by step

1. Survey: film each room on WhatsApp or join a video call; we ask about the floor, the lift and any large items.
2. Price and date: you get the price in writing on WhatsApp with what it covers: packing, dismantling and assembly, crew size, truck size.
3. Both buildings ready: you book the lift with both managements and we send the truck details they ask for.
4. Packing day: larger homes are packed the day before; a studio or one-bedroom is done in a single day.
5. Dismantling and loading: beds and wardrobes come apart, heavy items line the sides of the box, cartons go in the middle, and everything is strapped.
6. Unloading and assembly: each carton goes to its numbered room and the furniture is set where you want it.
7. Final walk-through: we go through the home with you before the crew leaves and take away spare plastic and cardboard.

Packing the home, room by room

Rooms are not packed the same way. A kitchen needs paper and dividers, clothes need hanging cartons, and a child’s room needs packing that makes the first night in the new home calm. This is how we handle each one.

Kitchen

Every plate and cup is wrapped on its own and stood on edge rather than laid flat; glassware goes into divided cartons. The fridge is switched off hours ahead so it can drain and dry, and the washing machine drum is secured and its hose emptied. Open spices and liquids go into sealed bags before the carton so nothing around them gets wet.

Wardrobes and bedrooms

Hanging clothes travel in wardrobe cartons with rails, so they arrive without needing an iron. Wardrobes are emptied and their doors removed first, and mirrors are covered with hard board and corner guards. Mattresses go into full plastic covers, because dust from stairwells and lifts sticks to them quickly.

Children’s rooms

Each child gets a “first night” carton with pyjamas, a favourite toy and school things. It is loaded last so it comes off first. Children’s beds and small desks are taken apart and their screws bagged and taped to the piece itself.

Living room and appliances

Screens are wrapped in blankets and travel upright, sofas get stretch film and then a blanket, and rugs are rolled after the dust is shaken out. Device cables go into small bags labelled with the device name.

Moving day: how the hours go

For a two-bedroom flat the crew arrives in the morning, finishes any remaining packing and dismantling in the first hours, then loads the heaviest pieces first: fridge, washing machine and dismantled wardrobes, then cartons, and the first-night cartons last. At the new place everything comes off in reverse, so beds are assembled first and you can sleep there that night, then wardrobes, then the living room.

Setting up the new home

Setting up is more than dropping pieces in rooms. We assemble beds and wardrobes and adjust their doors, rebuild the kitchen if you asked for it to be taken apart, and place cartons in the rooms they are numbered for. A few days before the move, apply for your electricity and water connection with Etihad Water and Electricity; it usually takes one to three working days, and you do not want the fridge arriving at a flat with no power.

If your new home is outside Ajman or outside the UAE

A move to another emirate usually happens in the same truck on the same day. Moves to Saudi Arabia or the Gulf go by road in a closed truck, and farther destinations go by sea.
