If you live in an apartment in Ajman and need a shipping company from Ajman to Morocco to take your cartons, suitcases and TV to family in Fes, the most economical option is usually a shared shipment (LCL): instead of booking a whole container, you pay only for the cubic metres your belongings occupy in a container that sails to Casablanca or Tanger Med, then continue by truck to Fes. Expect roughly four to six weeks from pickup to arrival; an urgent suitcase can go by air in a few days. At Al Basmah International Shipping we collect from your apartment door in Ajman, measure your items with you, number them and write the contents list before anything leaves the UAE.

What do apartment residents ship from Ajman to Morocco?
Most people who contact us from Ajman are not moving a whole house but the contents of a small flat or a room: typically enough to fill three to eight cubic metres. These are the items we see most:
Clothes and kitchen cartons
Clothes, blankets, bedding and kitchenware make up most of the volume.
Suitcases
Packed travel cases, locked and stretch-wrapped, counted like any other package by size.
Television
Packed in its original box or a wooden crate and shipped upright.
Sewing machine
Domestic or small industrial, with the head secured and set in a padded box.
Light furniture
A chair, a small table, a flat-pack shelf or a rolled mattress.
Gifts for family
Presents and fabrics; perfumes cannot fly but can go by sea under conditions.
If you have larger quantities of commercial goods, the trader’s details are in our Sharjah to Morocco shipping guide. This guide covers apartment belongings and suitcases.
How is a shared shipment priced per cubic metre?
A cubic metre is a cube one metre long, wide and high. To find a carton’s volume, multiply length × width × height in centimetres and divide by one million. Example: a 60 × 40 × 40 cm carton = 96,000 ÷ 1,000,000 = 0.096 m³, so ten cartons of that size come close to one cubic metre.

| Item | Approximate size | Approximate volume |
|---|---|---|
| Medium carton | 60 × 40 × 40 cm | About 0.1 m³ |
| Large suitcase | 80 × 50 × 30 cm | About 0.12 m³ |
| 55-inch TV in its box | 140 × 20 × 85 cm | About 0.24 m³ |
| Boxed sewing machine | 50 × 30 × 40 cm | About 0.06 m³ |
| Rolled single mattress | 100 × 40 × 40 cm | About 0.16 m³ |
These figures are a rough guide; we measure the packages at pickup. LCL usually has a minimum chargeable volume, so if your items fall well below it, ask the team: air, or combining items with your suitcases, may suit you better.
Packing cartons, suitcases, the TV and the sewing machine
A shared shipment is loaded at a consolidation warehouse and unloaded at a station in Morocco, so every package is lifted and stacked more than once. That calls for different packing from a local move:
Cartons
Use new double-wall cartons and keep each under 25 kg so it can be carried. Put heavy items at the bottom, fill gaps with clothes or paper so the box does not crush, and seal it with wide tape in an H pattern.
Suitcases
Remove any liquids, perfumes and batteries, lock the zip with a small padlock or cable tie, and stretch-wrap the case so it does not tear or get dirty. Do not pack cash, gold or original official documents; carry those yourself.
Television
The best protection for a screen is its original box and inserts. If you no longer have it, we build a wooden crate or wrap it in layers of bubble wrap and rigid board, marked “fragile” with a this-way-up arrow. Screens travel upright, never flat.
Sewing machine
Remove the needle, the base and the accessory pouch, tape the head or arm so it cannot move, and place the machine in a foam-lined box. For an industrial machine with its table, dismantle and wrap the table separately.
Labelling and the contents list
In a shared shipment your belongings sit next to those of dozens of other people, and labelling is what brings them back to you complete. On every package write clearly, or stick a label with:
- Your full name as in your passport.
- A Moroccan phone number for the person receiving in Fes, and your UAE number.
- The city: Fes, and the district if possible.
- The package number out of the total, e.g. 7/23.
Then the contents list: one sheet with each package number, a short description and item count, such as “Package 7: winter clothes, 2 blankets” and “Package 12: used 55-inch TV”. Moroccan customs may open any package and compare it with the list, and “personal effects” alone is not enough. Write the list in Arabic and French if you can, and keep a copy on your phone.
Photograph each carton open, with its number already written on it, before you seal it. The photos help you write the list and help if customs asks about a particular package.
Pickup areas in Ajman
We collect from flats and buildings in every Ajman district and coordinate with the building watchman for the lift and truck parking. The areas we serve most:
- Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya and Al Bustan, where most residential towers are.
- Al Jurf, Al Rawda, Al Mowaihat and Al Hamidiya.
- The Corniche, Al Nakheel, Al Rumailah and old Ajman.
- Emirates City, Al Yasmeen, Al Zahya and Garden City.
- Ajman Free Zone and the industrial area for anyone with a small storeroom.
Before pickup day, ask the building management whether they need advance permission for moving items out or a lift booking; some towers in Al Nuaimiya and Al Rashidiya set fixed moving hours. Stack the cartons near the door, take the TV off its wall bracket before the crew arrives, and keep suitcases closed and wrapped so they are measured with the rest. If you leave the UAE before the sailing, give us the number of someone in Ajman or in Morocco we can reach, since updates come on WhatsApp all the way.
After pickup the packages go to our nearby branch in Sharjah Industrial Area 18 and on to the consolidation warehouse, where they are weighed, measured and stowed in the shared container.
The sea route from Ajman to Morocco and arrival times
There is no road shipping from the UAE to Morocco. The shared container leaves Jebel Ali, Khalid Port in Sharjah or Khor Fakkan, crosses the Red Sea, the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean, and arrives at Tanger Med or Casablanca. There it is unpacked at a station, each owner’s shipment is cleared separately, and your belongings leave by truck for Fes.
LCL usually waits for the container to fill before sailing, so allow about a week for consolidation on top of the sea time. We tell you the next cut-off when you book, and you get WhatsApp updates at sailing, arrival and clearance.
| Method | Approximate time | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sea – shared container (LCL) | 4–6 weeks including consolidation and devanning | Apartment items, cartons and suitcases, 1–15 m³ | The economical choice for flats; priced per m³ |
| Sea – full container (FCL) | 3–5 weeks port to port + clearance | A whole house or more than 15 m³ | Loaded at your building and sealed until Morocco |
| Air | 2–5 days door to door | One or two urgent suitcases or cartons | Actual or volumetric weight; not for furniture |
Arrival port by city
| City | Usual arrival port | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Casablanca | Casablanca port | Delivery right after clearance |
| Rabat and Kenitra | Casablanca | Trucked after clearance |
| Tangier and Tetouan | Tanger Med | Closest for the north |
| Fes and Meknes | Tanger Med or Casablanca | Depends on the line, then trucked inland |
| Marrakech | Casablanca | Trucked south |
| Agadir | Agadir or Casablanca | May take longer depending on the line |
| Oujda | Tanger Med | Trucked east |
Delivery in Fes: the new town and the old medina
Fes is really two cities, and delivery differs in each. In the new town the streets are wide and some buildings have lifts, so the truck parks at the door and cartons and furniture are carried up to the flat. Before arrival we ask for the district, the floor and whether there is a lift, so we send the right number of porters.

The old medina (Fes el-Bali) has narrow, winding lanes that cars cannot enter. There the truck stops at the nearest gate, and cartons and suitcases are carried by hand or on small handcarts to the house. A TV and heavy items need more porters and more time, so tell us in advance if the address is inside the medina and name the nearest gate or landmark. The same applies in Meknes and other old cities.
If your family lives in another city, see our UAE to Morocco shipping guide or shipping from Dubai to Morocco.
Air freight from Ajman to Morocco
Air helps when you cannot wait: a suitcase of clothes for a student, permitted medicines with their prescription, documents, or a gift for a coming occasion. We collect in Ajman, the shipment flies from Sharjah or Dubai airport to Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, or to other airports, and continues to Fes. It usually takes two to five days door to door including clearance.

Air is charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher; volumetric = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000. An 80 × 50 × 30 cm suitcase has a volumetric weight of 20 kg, so if it actually weighs 23 kg, the actual weight applies. Air does not suit furniture or a large TV, and lithium batteries, liquids and perfumes are restricted.
Shipping a sedan from Ajman to Morocco
A sedan you want to take to Morocco usually travels on a RoRo vessel: the car is driven up the ramp into the ship and lashed, then driven off at the arrival port, with no container. Before any booking the team checks the car’s eligibility, because Morocco distinguishes between temporary admission for a Moroccan resident abroad and definitive import, which has conditions and duties, with reductions in certain cases. We do not quote rates or age limits until we have checked your case.

Have the registration card, passport and a copy of your residence visa ready, and empty the car of personal items; a RoRo car is not loaded with cartons.
Documents for shipping personal belongings
- Copy of your passport and UAE residence visa.
- Moroccan national ID card of the receiver or the shipment owner.
- The numbered contents list, signed by you.
- For Moroccans returning for good: proof of residence abroad and definitive return, such as a visa cancellation or end-of-service letter.
- For foreigners moving to Morocco: a Moroccan residence card or other proof of settling there.
Moroccans living abroad who return for good can usually import their used household goods with a one-time customs exemption under conditions, including a period of residence abroad, applying within a set time after return, and a detailed contents list. Someone who stays in the UAE and sends cartons to family is making a personal consignment, which may be charged duty depending on value and type. The team reviews your case before shipping.
Warning: New items in quantities that look commercial, such as ten of the same boxed item, are usually treated as goods and charged duty and VAT, even inside a personal-effects shipment.
Prohibited and restricted items
- Prohibited: narcotics, weapons and ammunition, counterfeit goods.
- Drones are banned or need prior authorisation.
- Some medicines and electronics need permits.
- Do not pack gas cylinders, flammables, loose batteries or fresh food in cartons.
- Liquids and perfumes are banned by air and accepted by sea in personal quantities, well packed.
How much does shipping from Ajman to Morocco cost?
An LCL price follows the cubic metres your belongings take and the delivery city; air follows the weight; a car follows its type. For all of these: send the details on WhatsApp and the price comes back to you. Send the number of cartons and their rough size, the number of suitcases, photos of the TV, the sewing machine and any furniture, your Ajman district and floor, and the address in Fes.
What decides the price?
| Factor | Effect |
|---|---|
| Shipping method | LCL per m³, FCL at a fixed container rate, air per kg of actual or volumetric weight |
| Container size | Above roughly 15 m³ a 20 ft container may cost less than LCL |
| Total volume | Cubic metres after actual measurement at pickup |
| Port and city | Casablanca or Tanger Med, then the distance to Fes and delivery inside the old medina |
| Packing | New cartons, a wooden crate for the TV, padding for the sewing machine |
| Documents | Contents list and definitive-return papers if any |
| Car | RoRo or container, and vehicle size |

- We estimate the volume in m³ and suggest LCL or air; you get the price and the cut-off date.
- You pack and number the cartons, or we pack for you.

- Your items are stowed in the shared container, with an update when it sails.
- On arrival in Morocco, clearance is done with your papers and list.

Mistakes that delay a shared shipment
- Cartons without numbers, or with names different from the passport.
- A vague contents list that does not mention the TV and appliances.
- A Moroccan phone number that is switched off or unanswered when the truck arrives.
- Perfumes and liquids inside suitcases sent by air.
- Not mentioning that the address is inside the old medina, so the truck arrives without enough porters.
- Forgetting to ask about optional insurance for your belongings; ask the team before shipping.
