Shipping Company from Fujairah to Tunisia +971557643821: Furniture in a Container from Your Door plus Car Shipping to Bizerte

Shipping Company from Fujairah to Tunisia Furniture in a Container from Your Door plus Car Shipping to Bizerte
Guide summary

Move your furniture from Fujairah to Tunisia in a container loaded at your door, sailing from Fujairah or Khor Fakkan to Bizerte or Rades, with car shipping after an eligibility check and air freight for urgent parcels.

If you are looking for a shipping company from Fujairah to Tunisia to move your home, the shortest path is a full container brought to your door, loaded in front of you and sealed, then sailing from Fujairah port or Khor Fakkan, both close by on the east coast. At Al Basmah International Shipping we arrange the container, packing and loading in Fujairah, Dibba, Masafi and Bidiyah. After transhipment at an intermediate port the container reaches Bizerte or Rades if your home is in northern Tunisia, or Sfax or Sousse for the centre and south. Sea transit is roughly four to six weeks port to port, then clearance and the truck to your address. Tunisia is reached by sea or air only, with no road route; urgent parcels fly and arrive in days, and cars go in a container after an eligibility check.

Your container to Bizerte

  • Method: a 20 ft or 40 ft container at your door, or space in a shared container for small volumes.
  • Sailing: from Fujairah or Khor Fakkan, or Jebel Ali when its sailing is sooner.
  • Arrival: Bizerte or Rades for Bizerte, Tunis and the north; Sfax or Sousse for the centre and south.
  • Approximate time: 4–6 weeks by sea port to port, 3–5 days by air door to door.
  • Cars: in a container after checking eligibility and entry regime.
  • Price: send the details on WhatsApp and you will get the price.

The port is near you

On the east coast your container usually does not need a long haul to Dubai first, which saves a day of arranging.

Sealed in front of you

A full container is not opened after sealing until customs inspection in Tunisia.

The north via Bizerte

If home is Bizerte or north of the capital, a nearer arrival helps when the sailing allows.

What we move from Fujairah to Tunisia

Shipments from Fujairah to Tunisia are mostly whole homes: families finishing their work in the emirate and going back, or port and refinery staff moving furniture to a house they bought in northern Tunisia. We move:

  • Full household furniture: bedrooms, living rooms, dining tables, a dismantled kitchen.
  • Large appliances: fridges, washers, ovens, AC units.
  • Personal belongings, books and clothes in numbered boxes.
  • Work equipment and small workshops.
  • Commercial goods for registered importers in Tunisia.
  • Cars in a container once their entry regime is checked.
  • Urgent parcels and documents by air.

Pickup areas in Fujairah and the east coast

The container or collection van can reach any address in the emirate, and we also collect from the neighbouring east-coast towns:

  • Fujairah city: Al Faseel, Sakamkam, Mirbah and the residential areas near the corniche.
  • Dibba Al Fujairah in the north, and Bidiyah and Qidfa on the coast road.
  • Masafi and the mountain areas on the Fujairah – Al Dhaid road.
  • Fujairah Free Zone and the Industrial Area for companies.
  • Kalba and Khor Fakkan on the same coast.

If you want to visit us, our branches are in Dubai – Deira, Port Saeed Street, and Sharjah – Industrial Area 18. If you live in Khor Fakkan or Kalba, our guide to shipping from Sharjah to Tunisia may also help.

A container at your door: how loading works

A container at your door means the truck brings the empty container to your home, and the furniture goes straight from the house into it with no warehouse in between. Fewer handlings is the best protection against scratches and breakage. Before the date we check that the street can take a container truck; some older neighbourhoods in Fujairah and Dibba are narrow, and then a smaller truck shuttles the furniture to the container parked at the nearest suitable spot.

Container size Approximate usable volume Usually suits
20 ft container About 25–28 m³ in practice A one- or two-bedroom flat with average furniture
40 ft container About 55–60 m³ in practice A three-bedroom flat or a small villa
40 ft high cube About 60–65 m³ in practice A villa with large furniture and tall wardrobes
  1. The packing team arrives hours before the container, or the day before for big homes.
  2. Furniture is dismantled, each piece wrapped and numbered on the contents list.
  3. The container arrives; the heaviest items go at the bottom and front, lighter ones on top.
  4. The load is secured with straps and dividers so nothing shifts at sea.
  5. The container is closed and sealed in front of you, and the seal number goes on your papers.
  6. The truck takes it to Fujairah port or Khor Fakkan.

You receive the container and seal numbers on WhatsApp. Any wooden crate or packaging must be treated to the international ISPM-15 standard, which the team handles.

The sea route from Fujairah to Tunisia and transhipment

Fujairah and Khor Fakkan sit on the Gulf of Oman outside the Strait of Hormuz, so the ship heads straight into the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Red Sea and the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean. There is usually no direct line from the east coast to Tunisia, so the container is transhipped: unloaded at a hub port on the way and reloaded onto a smaller vessel serving Tunisian ports.

Transhipment is routine, but it adds days depending on the second vessel’s schedule, which is why we give you a range rather than a fixed date. The container stays sealed throughout.

Bizerte or Rades?

Rades is Tunisia’s largest container port, serving the capital and its surroundings, and most sailings call there. Bizerte is in the far north; if your destination is Bizerte itself, arriving there shortens the inland leg when a suitable line is available. If not, the container lands at Rades and the truck heads north to Bizerte in roughly an hour to an hour and a half. We choose the port by the available sailing and your address.

What happens when the container reaches Tunisia

The ship arriving does not mean the container has left the port. After unloading it waits in the port yard until the documents are lodged and the customs declaration is registered, then customs decides the type of inspection: papers only, or opening the container and matching its contents against the list. Used furniture containers are often opened, which is why we recommend an accurate, numbered list so the inspection moves quickly.

  • The first days in port are usually within the free period; after that storage and detention charges accrue on the container.
  • What delays release most: missing definitive-return papers, a vague list, or an undeclared item.
  • If you are still in the UAE when it arrives, a relative may follow up with a power of attorney, depending on the procedure.
  • Once released, the container leaves on a truck to your address, and the team sends the approximate arrival time on WhatsApp.

That is why we suggest that you, or your papers, reach Tunisia before the container. Sending documents early by air often saves days of waiting in port.

Transit times from Fujairah to Tunisia

Method Approximate time Best for Notes
Sea, full container (FCL) 4–6 weeks port to port + clearance A whole home Loaded at your door and sealed in front of you
Sea, shared (LCL) About 5–8 weeks Under 14 m³ Usually 1 m³ minimum; waits for the container to fill
Air 3–5 days door to door Urgent documents and parcels Actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher

Air freight from Fujairah to Tunisia

For things that cannot wait a month at sea, such as official papers, children’s school certificates, a work laptop and clothes for the first days, we use air freight. We collect in Fujairah and the parcel flies from Dubai or Sharjah airport to Tunis–Carthage International Airport, or to Monastir, Djerba or Enfidha. Allow three to five days door to door including clearance.

  • Charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher; volumetric = L × W × H in cm ÷ 6000.
  • Example: a 50×50×40 cm box has a volumetric weight of about 16.7 kg even if it weighs 8 kg.
  • Air does not suit furniture, and lithium batteries, liquids and perfumes are restricted.
  • Send the air parcel weeks before the container lands, so your papers are in Tunisia when clearance starts.

Car shipping from Fujairah to Tunisia

Tunisia’s car import rules are strict, so our first step is an eligibility check before any booking. Tunisians living abroad have special regimes, such as the FCR regime with tax advantages under conditions; otherwise there are limits on age and type. We quote no figures or years before studying your case: the team reviews the ownership and entry regime and then decides the method.

From Fujairah a car usually goes inside a container, with its wheels strapped and chocked so it cannot move. It may go by RoRo from another port when a suitable line runs; then the car is driven aboard uncovered. We photograph the car with you before loading and send the photos on WhatsApp.

  • Clean inside, with the tank nearly empty.
  • No personal items in the car unless the entry regime allows.
  • Copies of the registration and export certificate ready before the date.

Packing for a full container

  • Sofas and mattresses in plastic, then blankets or corrugated card.
  • Glass tables and mirrors in treated wooden crates.
  • Appliances drained, with doors taped shut.
  • Bed and table legs removed, their screws bagged and tied to the same piece.
  • Heavy items (books, dishes) in small boxes, light items (clothes, cushions) in big ones.
  • Every box numbered with the room name, and every number on the contents list.

What to ship and what to sell before you leave

Not everything in the house deserves space in the container. You pay for the whole container, so fill it with what is hard to replace in Tunisia and leave what is easy to buy there. Many of our Fujairah customers follow this rule:

  • Ship: good solid-wood furniture, complete bedrooms, modern appliances, carpets, family items and books.
  • Think twice: cheap chipboard furniture, which suffers from dismantling and may not be worth the cost.
  • Sell or donate: old mattresses, appliances past their life, and furniture that will not fit your new home in Bizerte.
  • Measure the rooms in Tunisia before shipping; some large UAE wardrobes will not pass the doors of older flats.

Documents you will need

Used household goods and personal effects

Passport, a copy of your residence and a detailed contents list. A Tunisian living abroad who is returning for good can usually bring used furniture in once with exemption under the definitive-return procedure, with papers from the Tunisian consulate, a detailed contents list and within a set period. Foreign residents follow other rules, and the team checks your case.

Commercial goods

Importer registration, commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin (GAFTA may apply to goods of Arab origin). VAT at the standard 19% and customs duties apply by tariff line.

Cars

Registration card (mulkiya), export certificate, the owner’s passport and any special entry-regime papers.

Prohibited and restricted items

  • Prohibited: narcotics, weapons and ammunition, counterfeit goods.
  • With authorisation: drones, some electronics, some medicines.
  • Keep out of the container: gas cylinders, fuel, strong household chemicals, perishable food.

Warning: Anything found in the container that is not on the list can delay the release of the whole container and lead to a fine. Declare everything, even small items.

Tips before moving your home to Tunisia

  • Book the container at least a week before you hand back your Fujairah flat.
  • Photograph valuable furniture before packing.
  • Do not ship appliances with an unsuitable voltage for Tunisia without a converter.
  • Ask the team about optional insurance for valuable furniture.
  • Check in Tunisia whether the street can take a large truck.

A tip from the team: if your Tunisian home is an upper-floor flat with no lift, tell us beforehand so we arrange extra hands for delivery day instead of a surprise on the day.

Delivery in Tunisia: Bizerte, the north and other governorates

After clearance the container is trucked to your address, or the furniture is moved into a smaller truck if the site does not allow. Sea-view flats are common in Bizerte, and getting furniture up sometimes needs a hoist or extra workers. In old medinas with narrow lanes, such as the Medina of Tunis, the truck stops at the entrance to the quarter and the furniture continues on a small cart or by hand.
