Why Dubai to Yemen shipping starts in Deira
Deira is Dubai’s old market and still the wholesale hub where Yemenis and many others buy their stock. Our branch on Port Saeed Street is close to Naif Souk, Murshid Bazaar and the Al Ras markets, so a trader buying clothing, fabric, perfume or household goods there can hand the goods over to us the same day without another trip. Plenty of customers stop by after a buying round, leave the boxes, send photos of the invoices on WhatsApp, and we take care of the rest: weighing, measuring, the packing list and getting it ready for the road.
If you live far from Deira, there is no need to come in; the team reaches your home, warehouse or shop in any part of Dubai.
Deira and Naif traders
Hand goods in at the branch straight after buying, and combine several suppliers into one shipment.
Just a few boxes
From a single box upwards, added to a shared load so you pay for your volume only.
Dubai apartments
Dismantling, packing and bringing things down from towers, with the lift booking arranged with building management.
Pickup areas across Dubai
We collect from every part of Dubai. The table sums up what we usually pick up from each side of the city:
| Area | Examples | What usually ships from there |
|---|---|---|
| Old Deira | Naif, Al Murar, Al Ras, Murshid Bazaar, Al Rigga | Wholesale goods, clothing, fabric, perfume, household items |
| East Dubai | Al Qusais, Al Nahda, Muhaisnah, Al Twar, Al Garhoud | Family belongings, appliances, small warehouses |
| Bur Dubai and the centre | Karama, Al Mankhool, Bur Dubai, Al Jafiliya | Flat contents, parcels, online-store orders |
| Al Barsha and Al Quoz | Al Barsha, Al Quoz Industrial, Al Sufouh | Furniture, workshop equipment, warehouse goods |
| The newer towers | Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), Dubai Marina, JBR | Apartment furniture from towers, personal boxes |
| Industrial and free zones | Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai Investments Park | Commercial goods, pallets, full containers |
| Other residential areas | Mirdif, Al Warqa, International City | Household goods, stock from International City’s markets |
If your goods are with a supplier in Jebel Ali Free Zone, we arrange collection straight from the warehouse along with the free zone exit paperwork, so you do not have to move them yourself. The same goes for buyers at International City’s wholesale shops: send us the shop names and numbers, and we collect from each one and consolidate the quantities with us before loading. For residents of the Marina and other towers, we suggest telling us about the lift booking early, since some towers only allow moves within set hours.
Shipping shop stock from Dubai to Yemen
Most of what leaves Dubai for Yemen is stock for shops in Aden, Mukalla, Seiyun, Taiz and Sanaa: men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, abayas and fabric, shoes and bags, perfume and bakhoor, household and kitchen goods, phone accessories, spare parts and shop supplies. These shipments need three things: packing that protects goods from crushing, an accurate packing list with piece counts, and an invoice that matches what is in the boxes.
- Consolidation: if you bought from five suppliers in Deira and International City, we collect from each and combine the goods into one shipment under your name.
- Pallets: heavy or bulky goods are stacked on pallets and stretch-wrapped so they do not shift in the truck.
- Numbering: every box carries a number and the consignee’s name, making counting easy at the border and on delivery.
- Perfume: ships by road or sea with suitable packing; by air it has quantity and packing restrictions.
A trader who ships roughly every month learns after two or three shipments when to order the next batch so the shelves never run empty, because the route and its timing become familiar.
If this is your first commercial shipment
Start with a sensible quantity that tests both the market and the route. Keep all supplier invoices in one file, ask each supplier to write the number of pieces on the invoice, not just the number of boxes, and make sure the consignee’s details in Yemen are written exactly as on their ID. After the first shipment arrives you will know what sold fast and what was slow, so you can adjust the next order — and by then we will know how your goods are packed and can prepare them faster.

Parcels and a few boxes: shared shipping
Only got three boxes of clothes and gifts for the family? That is the most common request we get in Dubai. You do not need a truck or a container; we add your boxes to a shared load heading to the same region of Yemen, and you pay only for their volume or weight. By sea this is called LCL; by road it is a share of a truck.
- Bring the boxes to the Deira branch, or we collect them from your home.
- Write what is in each box in detail, and do not mix personal things with goods for sale.
- Use strong new boxes; a used grocery carton will not survive a road this long.
- Write the consignee’s name and number on two sides of each box.
A shared load leaves once it is complete, and the team tells you the expected date when it receives your boxes.

Family belongings from Dubai apartments
Moving out of a flat in a Dubai tower involves things a ground-floor house does not: most towers require a move-out permit from building management and a service-lift booking at a set time. Ask the management about this a few days ahead, and we coordinate with the guard or the management on moving day. Then we dismantle and pack the furniture inside the flat, bring it down in the lift and load it onto the truck.
A family moving to Yemen usually carries a mix: bedroom furniture, appliances, boxes of clothes and dishes, and sometimes a little stock for a business they plan to start there. We separate personal belongings from any commercial goods on the list, because they are treated differently on arrival. Appliances work in Yemen just as in Dubai, on 220–230 V and 50 Hz.
How your shipment gets from Dubai to Yemen
There are three ways, and the team chooses the right one for your shipment with you and confirms the delivery city and its route at booking:
By road through Oman
This is how most Dubai shipments travel. The closed truck is loaded in Dubai, enters Oman, and runs south through Dhofar and the Salalah area to the Al Mazyunah border post, then crosses to Shahan in Yemen’s Al Mahra governorate, and on to Al Ghaydah, Mukalla, Hadramout and the other cities. It takes roughly 7 to 14 days to the door, and the shipment needs complete documents for every border.
By sea from Jebel Ali
Jebel Ali port is in Dubai itself, which makes sea an easy option for anyone filling a 20 ft or 40 ft container or shipping a car. The container sails for some days to Aden or Mukalla, then comes handling and clearance, then a truck to the address; in total about two to four weeks.
By air from Dubai airport
For light urgent parcels; details in the next section.
| Method | Leaves Dubai from | Approx. time | Good for | Not good for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Road | Straight from the pickup point | 7–14 days | Shop stock, flat contents, a few boxes | Anything that must arrive within days |
| Sea | Jebel Ali port | 2–4 weeks | A full container, a car, heavy equipment | Small urgent parcels |
| Air | Dubai airport | Usually a few days | Documents, samples, small urgent items | Furniture and large appliances |
Air freight from Dubai to Yemen
Air freight leaves from Dubai airport, or from Sharjah or Abu Dhabi, for Aden airport or the nearest airport the team names at booking, and usually arrives in a few days. It is used by the trader who has run out of an item customers keep asking for, by someone sending official papers or product samples before a large order, or by anyone with a gift for an occasion coming up soon.
- Charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater; volumetric = length × width × height (cm) ÷ 6000.
- Example: a 50 × 50 × 30 cm box weighing 7 kg has a volumetric weight of 75,000 ÷ 6000 = 12.5 kg, so it is charged as 12.5 kg.
- Lithium batteries, liquids and perfume are restricted by air; ask the team before packing.
- Furniture does not go by air; the cost is nowhere near road freight.
Before choosing air, work out the volumetric weight of your boxes. Sometimes just changing the box size cuts the bill a lot.

Delivery in Aden, Hadramout, Sanaa and other cities
We deliver from Dubai to Yemen’s main cities, and the delivery city is confirmed with the team at booking. This is what the consignee can expect in each area:
| Destination | Districts and towns | How it gets there from Dubai | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aden | Crater, Al Mansoura, Khor Maksar, Al Sheikh Othman | Truck via Oman, or container to Aden port | Urgent parcels fly to Aden airport |
| Mukalla and Hadramout | Mukalla, Seiyun, the valley towns | Truck via Al Mazyunah–Shahan, or container to Mukalla port | Among the closest destinations to the land border |
| Al Mahra | Al Ghaydah | Truck straight after the Shahan crossing | Shortest road distance |
| Taiz and Ibb | Taiz, Ibb | Truck to the door, or container via Aden | Mountain roads; tight packing for appliances |
| Sanaa and the north | Sanaa, Dhamar | Mostly by truck | Route confirmed by the team at booking |
| Hodeidah | Hodeidah | Mostly by truck | High humidity; barrier bags for textile goods |
We also deliver to Shabwa (Ataq) and Marib by prior arrangement.
At the Al Mazyunah and Shahan crossing
Trucks coming from Dubai cross from Al Mazyunah in Oman’s Dhofar to Shahan in Al Mahra. There the documents are checked and the list is compared with the load, which is why we insist on a detailed list: “20 boxes of children’s clothing, 300 pieces” is far better than “clothes”.
At Aden or Mukalla port
A container arriving from Jebel Ali is discharged at the port, goes through clearance, and is then trucked to the address. We need the consignee’s phone to be reachable during those days.
The weather on arrival
Aden, Mukalla and Hodeidah are as hot and humid as a Dubai summer, or more, so fabric, leather and electronics need barrier bags and moisture absorbers. Sanaa, Ibb and Dhamar are cooler and the road there is dustier, so tight sealing matters most.

If you have another shipment going to Oman itself, see the Dubai to Oman shipping guide.
Packing by type of shipment
We do not pack shop stock the way we pack a bedroom set; every shipment leaving Dubai has its own method:
- Clothing and fabric: sealed in plastic bags inside the box, because the humidity in Aden and Hodeidah leaves smells and marks on exposed fabric.
- Household goods and glass: cardboard dividers between pieces and crumpled paper to fill gaps so nothing moves inside the box.
- Electronics and phone accessories: in their original boxes where possible, then an outer carton with a moisture absorber.
- Apartment furniture: dismantled and numbered, wrapped in blankets and heavy-duty plastic, with corner guards on edged pieces.
- Personal boxes: a new double-wall carton, tape along every edge, and the consignee’s name on two sides.
A box heavier than 25 or 30 kg gets thrown and dragged more than others; spread the weight over medium boxes, which are easier to load and count and less likely to tear.
Documents needed from Dubai
Shop stock
- A commercial invoice from the supplier or from you.
- A packing list with the number of boxes, the contents of each and their weight.
- A certificate of origin.
- The name and details of the importer or consignee in Yemen.
Some goods have additional requirements, and the team checks the requirements for yours before booking.
Family belongings and personal parcels
- A passport copy.
- A list of the boxes’ contents, ideally in Arabic.
- The consignee’s name, number and address in Yemen.
Customs treatment of personal belongings depends on the case, and the team reviews it with you without promising any exemption.
Cars from Dubai
You need the registration card and an export certificate from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, a copy of the owner’s passport, and the consignee’s details. Because the conditions on importing used cars into Yemen exist and change, the team checks your car against them before booking; it then ships inside a container from Jebel Ali or on an enclosed carrier by road.
What cannot be shipped from Dubai to Yemen
Prohibited: narcotics, weapons and ammunition, counterfeit goods and alcohol. Permit required: drones, satellite and wireless communication devices, and some medicines.
Warning: some market sellers offer brand names at very low prices; if they turn out to be counterfeit they will be seized, and the rest of the shipment may be delayed with them. And avoid putting cash or gold inside the boxes.
Shipping prices from Dubai to Yemen
Send the details on WhatsApp and you will receive the price. We need to know what you are shipping, the number of boxes or their sizes or photos, your pickup area in Dubai or that you will drop off at the Deira branch, and the city in Yemen. Shared loads are priced by volume or weight, a dedicated truck or container at one price for the load, and air by the kilo.
| What sets the price | Details |
|---|---|
| Road, sea or air | Air is the most expensive per kilo, road suits most Dubai shipments, and sea wins with a full container. |
| Volume or container type | A few boxes in a shared load, a 20 ft, or a 40 ft. |
| Receiving city in Yemen | Hadramout and Al Mahra are closer to the land border; farther cities add inland transport. |
| Packing | Ready boxes handed in at the branch, or full dismantling and packing of a flat’s furniture. |
| Documents | Commercial goods need more paperwork than personal parcels. |
| Car | Its size, and whether it ships alone or with other belongings. |

Common mistakes when shipping from Dubai to Yemen
- Buying from many suppliers without invoices: ask every supplier for an invoice; a missing one holds up clearance.
- Mixing stock with personal things: keep them separate on the list and in the boxes.
- Forgetting the tower move-out permit: some towers will not let furniture out without it.
- Choosing air for a heavy shipment: compare with road first; the difference is large.
- An unreachable consignee number: the shipment waits on arrival if nobody answers.
For other shipments, the shipping company from UAE to Yemen guide covers pickup from the other emirates, and the Dubai to Saudi Arabia shipping guide is for anyone sending to the Kingdom.
